I think some may have gotten kilt, too...we had that nice sunny weather, but I wasn't around much to water it.
There are a few patches that will likely need fill dirt. I thought it'd grow OK right in front, but now I can see where little rocks are keeping grass from coming up in a few places.
I just let my grass grow enough to reseed itself. Yeah...that's what I'm doing. :)
Yes!
We went up and got a whiskey barrel for flowers and a tomato plant out front. And a little hanger for a hanging pot too by the gate.
Sounds nice! Where'd you get 'em?
I need to start planting some of my seeds now it's warmer. But every time I plan that, I look at the forecast and we have *one more* night where we might get frost.
May try to rototill next weekend...
I have yet to put up my hooks on my gate...or to get flowers for 'em.
I can't remember what I decided on, either. Geraniums?
Drove by Rutledge Farm where the corn maze is and they say they are planting this year's corn maze next week. So I'd think they'd know when is the best time!
I bet we won't get frost now.... I'd go for it.
We got the stuff here at Ace on 93rd. They didn't have a LOT of flower choices. No impatiens for the shady pots by my porch, but I was able to get some red and white geraniums, petunias, and blue Lobelia. for the whiskey barrel and the hanging pot.
Geraniums or petunias... it's gonna be hot out there.
I'm thinking of going to Home Depot to look for hanging stuff...but there it's easy to get dazzled by choices. ;-) On the other hand, I could ask how much it costs to rent a rototiller. Maybe worth the trip.
Geraniums can take sun and heat, no? Whatever I put down there will be vey exposed.
If I do go to Home Depot, want me to check for impatiens? I got some for in back, so they do carry 'em. Mine weren't great, but it was the middle of the week when I picked them up. I imagine the selection is better on weekends.
Thanks, but no, I'll get them next week, I need to get more potting soil to fill the pots and such anyhow.
Geraniums would be able to take it, they like heat. You'll have to water whatever you put out there every day. I barely get enough sun for Geranius even at my gate, but I'm gonna try. My petunias sure did good out there.
I'm just trying to decide if I'm motivated enough to go to *town* again. I went to Ace earlier to get something to put over the burn barrel, but didn't think to check for plants - or get a lighter, for that matter.
But if I get 'em, I can hang 'em tomorrow evening and won't have to go out on a work night.
And I'm *sure* you're all very interested in my mental processes...
You can come over and watch us fill our whiskey barrel, maybe that'll help you decide if you're motivated to do more or not. :~D
Mmmmmm.....whiskey.....
Looks like you practically motivated the thread to death there.
Hey, will those whisky barrels fit over the painted tires?
By the time I asked her, she was gone ;~D
Hey - Rosie... Is our big chain we used to pull fence still over there?
err... pinging Rosie this time...
Hey - Rosie... Is our big chain we used to pull fence still over there?
Oops...
Hm...I dunno. If it was, it'd be in that pile of fencing stuff, I'd think. You can cover over and check...I'll start looking around.
Man...tackling all kinda phobias today. Burned some paper and cardboard in the burn barrel. My heart is still going pitter-pat, but I think it's almost done burning down.
~chuckling at Rosie and the burn barrel~
The chain would be in a bucket, I hope... that weighs about 40 pounds.
