Six or so.
We did have something planned for dinner, but that got nixed last night...so I guess we eat whatever they bring. Saves me the trouble of getting anything at least.
Doesn't sound then like you'd have time to do much of anything.
Not really. Shouldn't even stop on the way home...but I think I'm gonna anyway. Target is almost on the way. Fred Meyer might have really cheap card tables, too. Mebbe.
You have time at lunch?
I don't know what your definition of cheap is.
I think a card table, without chairs, would be too high. If you got low coffee table at least people could sit on the couch, and on the rollaway beds, and on the floor, and either talk or play games.
Try Value Village...
Have you seen the latest design magazines! You're downright avant garde!! Earthtones and the 70's look are back, big time! My wedding pottery is finally back in style!!
Tell em to blow it out their shorts!
I know at one point I bought a card table that came with four chairs...think it might have been thirty or forty bucks. If that's still possible, I dunno.
I think I *will* run to Value Village at lunch. I only get half an hour...but I can always stay fifteen minutes late if I hafta.
I have a feeling they won't have anything for a reasonable price. Seems like normally even coffee tables go for thirty bucks there.
And if my sibs did stuff like that to me, they wouldn't get invited back.
If I didn't get riled up, it wouldn't happen. So I'm more ticked off at myself than anything.
But we're *all* getting a little old to be playing the let's-see-if-we-can-make-soandso-mad game. I mean...really.
Yeah, no kidding. I'm glad my family's never had much of that dynamic... mostly our rivalries were one-on-one, not everyone against the victim.
You know...I was just musing in the kitchen and wondering if the guys in the graduate college, especially Steve's advisor, ever thought he would actually graduate! LOL! Remember he kept turning the paper in and never hearing back, over and over till finally he put in to graduate last December because he had completed all his classes and just needed signed off on the thesis? That, if you recall, is when it hit the proverbial fan. Remember, his advisor saying the paper wasn't thesis-worthy and never would be? A fine how do you do after all the times he'd turned in copies of it!
I think a lot of this behavior is make-up for not paying attention in the past as Steve plugged away...one class at a time...year after year.
Most of this stuff, as Peanut Gallery put it, is pre-defense stuff and we shouldn't be dealing with it right now!
I'm on the laptop...it warns me if I'm getting a phone call. So I can freep.
Gotta freep, you know. Heh heh.
Whatever it is, it's not acceptable behavior. They had BETTER get things together.
pick up a lava lamp while you're at it...
Maybe a bead curtain, too?
Steve told me that if he gets the paper in before May 5th, he won't graduate this semester, but he won't have to pay for another semester. (You know, the 2 hours required the semester you graduate deal.)
I told him that could very well be a big old load of crap that someone was trying to shovel on him (like so many times before) and not to believe it.
If he doesn't make it by Friday, *I'M* calling to verify that information. It would be nice if we wouldn't have to pay for 2 more hours (and I don't really care if he graduates 6 weeks later than we though), but I don't believe anything they say now.
ABSOLUTELY!
(I'd actually love one...but be that as it may...)
Act like the first deadline is the real one, but get info on the May 5th thing!
and a black lite...
And make sure it has a picture of a pot plant on it.
Just a picture?
