Trouble with bowls that small is that goldfish are just very dirty fish and you can't keep the PH within limits... They need a big tank, kept clean, or a pond.
I gotta go - over to Tiff's to get instructions on her critter care.
Yep. That's what the reviews said. And it's prolly why I kilt so many goldfish.
Tell Tiff to take good notes so they can share everything with you and ecurbh.
Just get a fake dead fish to float upside-down in it and you're set.
I'm beginning to think you should never have children ~or~ pets...
In a sane world, that would be true. Fortunately for me there aren't any rules against small fluffy creatures being put in my care.
Pets = emergency food supply.
mmmmmm....stir fry
See ya later. I'm gonna hop out early too.
*waves*
We at least know the "little" part of that is a big lie...and the other may be debatable.
I have a little bowl in the downstairs bathroom with a little glass fish suspended by fishing line from a glass bubble. I just have to keep the water up to the level of the top of the bowl, so the bubble is nice and high, and the fish floats in the water. Makes me smile every time I go in there cause he's so cute, and I don't have to clean his bowl quite as often as if he were alive. ;o)
UPDATE!
Well, it's the first glimmer of good news in a while as far as Steve is concerned.
Dr. J came by Steve's office and spoke to him about what the immediate future holds. It was looking very grim as you know...even getting the paper done before commencement.
But things are looking up. The committee member in Stillwater that has been so hard to get ahold of has deferred everything to Dr. J. He said when Dr. J signs off on it, so will he. He will be available next Thursday.
The other committee member wants to see one chart. There is some bickering going on between Dr. J and this committee member as to where that chart should be included...in the body or in the appendix (oh puh-leeze), but that other committee member has stated that when Steve gets that chart in there, he'll sign off.
So he's close! It's do-able, if everyone will just cooperate! Steve could get signed off on the paper next Thursday. Commencement is next Saturday and Monday. (He's doing both the one here in Tulsa and the one in Stillwater so he can see the president speak in Stillwater.)
I personally also called and spoke with the Graduate College Assistant Director of Student Academic Services, the title of the guy that did the format check for Steve. Seems he's also the guy that decides if when you turn in your paper, you have to take the 2 hours that semester to graduate. I found out this was indeed the truth and that there is no set date, he just decides. We're pretty sure if Steve gets the paper in by the 5th, although he won't officially graduate until the end of the first summer semester, he'll still not have to pay for another semester. Whew.
Wonderful news!
Prayers still going for ya. Let's see if the week ends better than it started.
Oh, I've been so hopeful in the past only to have my hopes dashed!
I have rented a car, though...for the trip to Stillwater on the 6th. So we're doing the commencement thing, come hell or high water.
It would just sure be nice to know it's all over when he puts on that cap, tassel, gown and hood!
Awwwwwwww... what a cute, fuzzy puppy.
Excellent!
And you'll know to take pictures!
That sounds like GREAT news!! Prayers up for everything going smoothly! Now will y'all go to the Tulsa graduation, or the one in Stillwater?
We're watching one of the "Future Weapons" shows. It's about the Javelin, the shoulder fired, fire and forget, anti-tank missle launcher. Next up is the gun the fires around a corner!
Soup's on. ;-)
I've been keeping an eye on the stove for a while now. :-)
SOUP SNAIG?
