Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Until the stars are all alight
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Nope, no fireworks allowed.
100lbs worth of non-valuable/non-hazardous items may be shipped in the vehicle.
I'm going to stuff it with the girls' stuffed animals, as well as all of my pillows and comforters. :-)

Believe it or not, all 3 of us flying one-way nonstop is cheaper than shipping the car. :-)

Stuffed animals and bedding is a good choice then... lots of bulk without a lot of weight.
I'm wondering, do you want my fish tank when you get up here? I'm tired of having a fish tank. I do have all the stuff for the pump and filter and a hood and stuff.

WooHoo! Congrats on the internship! David will be doing some research at school this summer. He'll be getting slave wages, I'm sure, but he's excited about it.

Heh, thanks! It should be really good experience for me this fall when I'm looking for a job. Plus I can pay my bills over the summer and chunk a lot of money at the wedding.
I should make about twice what I've been making and my expenses will be about a third of what they are now.

Supposedly Borders use that stare of theirs more than the nipping method. Intimidation rather than pain. ;-) True, but with them being so intelligent you know they're trying to pick one of fourteen painful ways of killing you.... vey intimidating.
I love watching them work though. they're stuning smart.

Great news! We'll probably get Paul to ride with us, helping drive the two cars, and we'll pay for his one way flight back to Boston or Providence, wherever he decides to leave his car, or can get picked up by a friend.

Sure! I couldn't take it right away, of course - but I definitely wouldn't mind having it.
Hmmmmm.....maybe I should bring my hermies with me....

Definitely, plus I think it'll give me a better idea of what sort of job I want.

Well, if there's a way I can have it set up for you to plop them into it, let me know.
To: JenB
It's still a good deal considering what it would cost to get another vehicle instead.
And it's door to door service, so they'll pick it up from my driveway and deliver it to Ramius' office.
Since we're looking for a house within a few miles of where he works anyway, it won't be a hardship to meet the driver when he arrives with the car.
Oh and congrats on the internship, chica!

Betta is an ex-fish. Snail poop.

*nods solemnly*
Sorry to hear it.
I'll look into what would be involved to bring them along with me. Tank set-up wouldn't be too much of a headache since it only involves filling the tank with 4 inches of playground sand.

I almost bought one of these the other day. Kroger (of all places) had 'em on sale. But the reviews I've read suggest they aren't the best for goldfish. Then wife and I thought about just getting one and not adding ~live~ fish.

When I was overseas, they actually broadcast sheepdog trials on one of the European sports channels. Pretty cool stuff...
far more interesting than many whacking-at-a-ball sports...Most were Border Collies, as I recall.
I dunno if my brat is all that smart, but he tries. ;-)
