"Gas Shortages" sounds like another drive-by media scam to me...

AAA spokeswoman Cathy Rossi told Baldini that the shortages were due to "logistics."

She said that a switch from MTBE to ethanol as a fuel additive is causing the shortages.

Rossi said the shortages were expected to be temporary.

Having a large supply of crude means nothing,if you don't have enough refining capacity to keep up with demand.

What everyone seemingly has forgotten is that it was the ecowhackos who insisted on MTBE in the first place.

Idiots then, idiots now, and their agenda couldn't be any more plain...for those who care to look.

"Having a large supply of crude means nothing,if you don't have enough refining capacity to keep up with demand."

This point needs to be made more. We are in terrible need of new refineries. I don't hear many lawmakers saying so and that's a shame.

I have noticed several gas stations lately here in Hampton Roads that were out of gas. I marked it up to another “gas shortage” like we had in 1973 – with a giant price hike to follow.
The evening news had the reason as a lead item – we are converting to ethanol, and old stuff has to be pumped out of the tanks and returned to the refinery, then refilled with the corn liquor mix.
I just bought a new car. The owner’s manual states plainly that ethanol should not be used.

Not so fast. It is taking us longer to die! The evil conservatives are making us live longer and bear high gas prices, bird flu, global warming, halitosis, and the heartbreak of psoriasis!

Cars still whizzed by me as I was driving 120 KPH (72MPH).

You must be suicidal going that slow on the Autobahn.

No problems here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland...er, if you don't count nearly $30.00 to fill up a little old Saturn sedan. This sorta scares me 'cause I have to fill up every two days. Gulp. Oh well! Guess it'll be renting a hotel room closer to work during the week if prices ever reach $4.00!

I was kinda stunned when talking to my mother in Virginia Beach last night who commented on there being several stations around where she lives being out of gas.

Most gas stations were out in the Hampton Roads area over the last few days. Mine was for 3 days. Finally got a shipment in today.
