Why? Wouldn't higher prices mean slower sales? What's going on?

AAA spokeswoman Cathy Rossi told Baldini that the shortages were due to "logistics." She said that a switch from MTBE to ethanol as a fuel additive is causing the shortages. Rossi said the shortages were expected to be temporary.

In other words, the EcoFreaks have caused the "shortage." Perfect.

I guess the lesson to be learned in that contrast is that oil isn't gas (yet), but I already knew that.

Plenty here in the York-Lancaster (PA) area.

Unleaded Regular is now at $2.99/gal, Unleaded Plus at $3.19/gal, and Unleaded Premium at $3.39/gal.

Kinda reminds me of how the California energy crisis was played out.

They (NBC10) report this to cause panic and then they go out and film gas lines. They did the exact thing last summer. Luckily I live near a low cost station and I just wait till a few hours after the newscast when all the lines subside.

On last night's Factor, O'Reilly and Tony Snow were debating the retirement package for Exxon's CEO and gas prices. While Snow disagreed with O'Reilly, he didn't challenge O'Reilly's claim that we have the largest surplus of oil in recent years.

With the recent mergers, competition in the petroleum industry has effectively ended. Every station in an area charges the same price. I don't trust big oil any more than I trust the Democrats or the Muzzies.

I just filled up here in Alexandria, VA. No problems, I was the only one at the station. $2.98 for regular. Passed lots of gas stations on the way home, didn't see any gas lines (and believe me, I'm old enough to remember what they looked like).

"In other words, the EcoFreaks have caused the "shortage." Perfect."

I support ethanol because it's made here in the US, instead of places like Iran. I will pay a bit more and wait a bit longer for fuel produced by American farmers than Arab whackos.

From what I've read the refineries are offline probably due to changing over from sweet crude to sour, and some other reasons.

It's really easy once you read this.

In Germany they are paying $6.00 a gallon. Of course, ,more than half of that is tax. Cars still whizzed by me as I was driving 120 KPH (72MPH).
