Why do most Pyschics or Mediums Seem to be Liberal?
self | 04/20/2006 | Pippin

Posted on 04/20/2006 9:56:03 AM PDT by Pippin

This is just a curiosity I have from my "travels" throught the internet and "google".

Now, after about 4 years of being a Freeper, I really do have fun here!

I've met lot's a different people from all over this country and also from other countries.

Most of you know me by now (I know, the trouble maker from MD! LOL!)

My question and comment has very little to do with politics (Or shouldn't have).

I have been looking up info on psychics and thier predictions on variuos websites and listings.

I've read all sorts of "predictions" that seem to paint a very dark picture of the future, both of our nation and President Bush and indeed the world.

Most predictors seem to have made predictions with a very liberal bent.

even one that claimed President Bush is a medium or a psychic!

others say he'll either resign by the end of this year under scandal or he'll go crazy or get very ill and die or be assasinated.

No mention of impeachment, but I'm sure it's coming!

All this leads to my question

Aren't there any Conservative Psychics or mediums?

Why do the ones I read about tend to be left-leaning Bush/America-hating liberals?

Am I missing something here?

I'll have to tell you something (at risk of being called crazy)

I do have limited psychic abilities, but I am not getting any major vibes making outlandish claims.

I am a Conservative Christian and don't think there is anything wrong with having certain abilities, you just have to be careful of were these abilities come from.

God can bestow these gifts on a person and that is good

but, be careful that they ARE from God, and not the Devil.

God bless all of you!

Thank You, I usually do stay away

But I am confused about it all, I know that it is against God as HE has condemned it.

But why do I get these feelings about the future or a sense of DeJa Vue?

Why do I have an ability I can't use because it's supposed to be evil?

Should I ignore it and live like I don't have them?

all this has me really confused

Ah! Perhaps some leisurely reading is in order. Santayana is a hoot, and William James is easy to understand. There is always Emerson. You might not agree with all they say, but at least you will have a better idea where the confusions lay.

Wish you hadn't thrown 'globalism' into the mix. That's a matter of interpretation, and a matter of definitions which vary greatly among conservatives.

There are those Bible 'scholars' who are dogmatic about it, but there is no Scriptural defense of their dogmatism. They are interpreting what they see, and drawing conclusions which may, or may not be accurate.

My view of globalism.....

Jesus loves the little children,
ALL the children of the world.
Red, brown, yellow, black and white
They are precious in HIS sight.
Jesus loves the little children of the world.

And my primary Scripture reference for that is John 3: 16

People in any form of nontrditional spirituality are more likely to be liberal than conservative. Conservatives tend to be drawn to more traditional spirituality.

Both they and liberals owe their continued existence and livelihoods to beguiling morons.

I wonder why more mediums are not wealthy. If they have insight to the future, why not use it to do well. Yes, it would seem that well done mediums are rare.

Pippin, whenever we have feelings that oppose God's word, we need to fight them.

ALL of us fight different things.....different urges and feelings which do not honor God. What you are experiencing might be unique, but the fact that you are experiencing feelings that you don't understand is common to all of us.

I would spend time in prayer when these feelings come to you, and depend on God's leading to know what to do about them. It may be that you will need to say (as we all do at times) "Get thee behind me, Satan!"

It's a complex bunch of possibilities, imho.

There's historical, ancestral stuff that may need prayed off; cut off by The Sword of The Spirit in prayer with folks experienced in such etc.

There may be curses that have been placed on an individual which lead into psychic abilities etc.

Etc.

CHECK OUT THE BOOK:

BONDAGE BREAKER. Great resource.

However, I also believe that God gifts some folks with extra spiritual sensitivities that are natural to that person but kind of like a vulnerable blank slate. God's intent is that the person be focused on Him etc. and get their info, direction, guidance from Him--including any extra spiritual sensitivities ESPECIALLY. If such a gift of God given to such an individual say at birth is allowed to be twisted and focused on Satan's lies, then great seduction and eventual harm will result.

I would encourage you to seek out the Pentecostal/Charismatic believers in your area which have a reputation for being balanced, sane, and very spiritually powerful--especially in prophetic gifting and discernment areas--and ask them to pray with you and discern what's the case with you. Also, they can give you guidance about staying on God's side of things.

I'd steer clear of rabid folks who seem to almost go ballistic at any mention of the least unconventional anything. Be persistent enough to seek out someone who's humble, wise and very experienced as well as gentle yet very spiritually and personally powerful and potent.

The most balanced churches I know of typically are VINEYARD fellowship churches. There's a lot of nondenominational Pentecostal/Charismatic churches which are balanced and healthy which should have such individuals or know of such individuals. If all else fails, you can check with Assembly of God and Foursquare but, in my experience, it's often been a very risky chance thing as to whether those churches will be healthy or not.

Watchman Nee felt that Adam before the fall had all manner of skills and abilities which got trashed and shoved essentially into oblivion after the fall. I have long thought he may have had something in that belief.

I just know that focusing on God Almighty and accepting only that which comes through the Cross and Blood of Jesus is an extremely high priority. I often pray for God to guard my mind, spirit, body and prevent any contamination from any source not of Him; from anything that hasn't come through The Cross and Christ's Blood.

I also seek confirmation from God about spiritual discernments and knowledge, dreams etc. If God doesn't confirm something, I lay it aside or run from it.

Also, there is an abiding principle of FOLLOWING AFTER PEACE as Scripture exhorts.

Satan likes to press, press, press as though there's a panic situation and one must conclude, communicate or do something urgently or something terrible will result.

God is not caught off guard and usually alerts well ahead of time. If there's an urgent sort of press, odds are, it's coming from the wrong source.

Of course, God can say--STOP! urgently when we are about to step in front of a Mack truck and haven't been paying attention to His earlier guidance about our walk--but those sorts of situations are extremely rare, in my experience.

Hope this is helpful. God's best to you and yours.

BTW, this sort of thread always brings out the worst in and the worst of the naysayers--ignore them. They usually have NO experience in such things and enough hostile opinions for all of Iran.

I would add, Pippin,

it's probably a very unwise thing to go Googling around for psychic info etc. It's akin to the Biblically proscribed avoidance of horoscopes, palm reading etc.

God may assign some folks to be researchers and learn and know about such things to keep close tabs on them for alerting the Body of Christ at large what to watch out for and be prepared for.

But for most Christians etc. they are wise to steer totally clear of such sources.

There are good sources of prophetic sorts of input from Holy Spirit

--BILL SOMERS' SITE and

--THE ELIJAH LIST

both offer food for prayerful thought which, at least, ostensibly comes from folks focused on God Almighty, His Word; Christ; His Spirit.

However, I'm rather dismayed still at the flawedness of even the authentic Christian prophetic in our era. I believe many things are averted by prayer. I believe many authentically Holy Spirit gifted individuals are still learning to walk in their gifting and making plenty of errors as they learn.

However, I think God will be cleaning all this up--I just don't understand why He seems to be taking a long time doing it. So, one has to take all such very loosely and put it on a high shelf and wait to see what God confirms.

Can you give me the name of a non-fraudulent psychic or medium?

Of course Jesus loves all the children and others of the world. And, in a very real sense, I'm a child of His Kingdom and thereby more a citizen of the universe than a lot of folks would claim to be.

However, to me, Scripture is quite clear about satan setting up a world government in the end times headed by an incarnation of himself.

The evidence has been building ever since Israel became a nation in a day in 1948 precisely as predicted in Scripture.

I have no interest in getting into that debate on this thread. But the evidence, to me, is abundantly clear in the daily headlines of the news.

My best impression, Pippin, is that you may well have some authentic gifting from God but are in need of serious mentoring, teaching and training about how to walk in such gifting in a Biblical, Spirit-filled, God fearing, God directed way.

But such teaching and mentoring can be critical.

James Randi's million dollar prize for the first genuine, documented paranormal event has never been claimed. I stand by my comment.
