The victim, a single mom who turned to exotic dancing to support her two kids, attends North Carolina Central University, a mostly black college in Durham.
She plans to keep a low profile until the students go on trial to avoid inflaming tensions in the black community, where opinion is running heavily against the privileged students.
One of the most hurtful things for the woman about the media circus surrounding the case, the cousin said, is the tendency to assume the worst about her because she is a stripper.
"She's a victim and she's a human being," the cousin said. "Her occupation couldn't justify that a crime like this was committed."

one cannot equate the culpability of underage drinking and watching a stripper with a false rape accusation. immorality does not equate to criminality. some people cannot see past their moral outrage and lose perspective.
We don't who said what to who first, but the use of racial slurs doesn't mean that the players deserve to be falsely accused of rape, or that an assault was justified.
"At the rate of $350 per DNA test and a total of 92 tests being run (2 labs; 46 per lab), then Nifong spent $32,200 to get these tests.......$16,100 more than needed by having a 2nd run of tests. It's only taxpayer money, so what the hell."
Maybe not... If he didn't find any strange DNA on or in her, there would be no reason for testing the students.
Now Megyn says "around" 1:00 am.
We are never going to get the exact time.....I thought cabbies had to log their times?....
did you hear her say yesterday that in talking to people about Nifong, she was told, prior to this gig, the most Nifong did was push traffic citations and that others see him as having this case as his big break into the big time?
Yes.
Off to PT!
There are separate amts. of 1916.64, 125., and 30. Does this mean that she owes that amt. of money?
There's also a charge of Possession/Use of Controlled Substance...subject to drug screening and a warrantless search.
Someone said yesterday that sometimes cabbies work off the books so that they don't have to report the income they make.
have "fun" ; )
I haven't read all this thread, but was the missing thumbnail in an early photo shown to have been replaced by a fake nail in a later photo?
He has a log ... he showed it here:

I heard that too....It may have been Fox...but can't be certain since I am constantly flipping channels...lol
if they have been suspended by Duke, they will have a great cause of action against the school. The DA, because he is the one who did the investigation has opened himself up to personal liability; and may have opened up the city for a lawsuit as well.
I can't get to it here but the N&O front page story on Sunday listed the vessel on which she served. I don't recall it as a sub but it would be easy enough to check.
I'd never thought I say it, but planting evidence is certainly possible in a case where a DA has staked out his future, his career on a case by UNETHICALLY going on a media tour and claiming the players were guilty and that they were not cooperating (when that wasn't true).
If these players are exonerated, then some sanctions may be filed regarding against the DA regarding his unethical and possibly illegal behavior - certainly violating the 6th amendment rights of the players when questioning them without their legal representation that was previously announced.
.
I know I was discussing it...

I read somewhere that they found 4 or 5? 'bright red nails', yet the pictures show pink nail polish on the railing. This actually fits with the story that she was doing her nails in the bathroom.
When she arrived, she already had nails missing. When the party didn't go well, the girls locked themselves in the bathroom and AV popped of the red nails, applied a new set and painted them pink...leaving the red nails behind.
Even if the nails came off, there should be a little evidence of polish around the cuticles. You would think that in a case of rape, the hospital would have very good records on the condition of her nails...but who knows in this case!

I'm afraid of that too. I wouldn't put it past this DA.
