The victim, a single mom who turned to exotic dancing to support her two kids, attends North Carolina Central University, a mostly black college in Durham.
She plans to keep a low profile until the students go on trial to avoid inflaming tensions in the black community, where opinion is running heavily against the privileged students.
One of the most hurtful things for the woman about the media circus surrounding the case, the cousin said, is the tendency to assume the worst about her because she is a stripper.
"She's a victim and she's a human being," the cousin said. "Her occupation couldn't justify that a crime like this was committed."

I didn't know that. Thank you for adding more facts to the discussion
We need to get Sen. Arlen Specter to gin up a "single rapist" thesis.... kind of like what he did with the "single bullet" idea.
Something like that.
He must be mistaken about the time.
I hope he doesn't start embellishing his story like Bissey did!
I thought we were discussing that very same thing yesterday....am I having another senior moment?
I'm not sure I could make heads or tails of that, but God bless ya anyhow.
I had thought they started allowing women in subs a few years back, but I guess that was just all the media pressure to force the Navy to do so.
It doesn't appear women can serve on subs as their tour of duty, but from the U.S. Navy submarine FAQ:
http://www.navy.mil/navydata/cno/n87/faq.html
10. Can women go on submarines?
Women are not currently assigned to submarine crews because of the very limited habitability and privacy onboard a submarine. However, women have been on submarines for short durations as civilian technicians for specialized equipment testing, family members for one-day dependent cruises, and female midshipmen conducting two-day orientation cruises.
NO ONE IN AMERICA HAS TO DO THIS. It has nothing to do with "luck". Your comparison to a woman "sleeping" with the Nazi's in order to help her country has ZERO relevancy to this case in Durham in the United States of America.
We are the most prosperous nation in the world. Our starving "here" is not "starving". The amounts of hand-outs and dollars via taxpayer forced "charity", and then the great charity of the United States people on THEIR OWN. FROM THEIR OWN HEARTS.
The stripper became a stripper because SHE CHOSE TO become one. The opportunities in this country abound SO GREATLY people by the MILLIONS -- BREAK LAWS TO GET HERE.
Strippers CHOOSE to become Strippers. Prostitutes CHOOSE to become Prostitutes, in America.
Unless you wanna talk about the illegal immigrant trade where women, illegally coming across the border are being forced into sexual prostitution.
This too, involves a choice. These women, no matter their circumstances, are choosing to break the law in illegally entering the U.S.
Sexual predators are glad.
But no, this stripper has not a corner on the "good profession" or "morality" claim.
Or, are you suggesting that black America is still on the plantation having to "choose" prostitution because "discrimination" is so rampant? That we live in "civil war"?
We don't.
The new info, is that in a picture taken at 12:04 am.four fingernails were missing...WAY before the supposed incident could have happened.
If we could see the missing fingernails, why could the media not see them....but waited until the defense pointed it out to them?
Jason Alexander Bissey, a neighbor to the house where the woman allegedly was raped, provided a written statement to defense attorneys that they shared with The Herald-Sun over the weekend.
Bissey said he saw the "skimpily dressed" accuser leave the house between 12:20 and 12:30 a.m., but then heard her say she was going back inside to retrieve a missing shoe.
According to defense lawyers, Bissey's observation had to be after the time the woman allegedly was raped in the house, since she never actually re-entered it.
But if she had been raped and sodomized for 30 minutes, as she claimed, would she really have been so worried about a lost shoe that she would dare to face her attackers again, attorneys Ekstrand, Thomas and others are asking.
In interviews with other media, Bissey has said he heard men yelling racial slurs, as the alleged victim claims her attackers did to her. In addition, a woman who called 911 the night of the party also said men at the house had shouted racial insults at her and a friend.

Jason Bissey was smoking a cigarette on the front porch next door and said he heard some of the party demand a refund.
He heard one shout, Hey bitch! Thank your grandpa for my nice cotton shirt.
Someone from the house apologized and coaxed the women back inside. It was then, the woman says, that she was dragged into a bathroom and raped, beaten and choked by three men for a half hour.

Unless she was in the Canadian Navy....lol

"If we could see the missing fingernails, why could the media not see them....but waited until the defense pointed it out to them?"
GREAT question!!!!
I suppose. I'm tired. I left a lot of the chronology out so, naturally, it doesn't make sense unless you've followed my posts on similar threads (which I don't recommend in your case). Essentially it dealt with the face that my ex married a stripper, had a new daughter, took in the new wife's two daughters, and forgot about his other family.
Years later we start meeting up with them in bizarre and unexpected ways.
That is not incoherent. It is the truth.
Feminist axiom: Rape is a worse crime than murder. It's why they have their "witness protection program" known as the "rape shield laws". They aren't interested in erecting an "abortion shield laws" for the unborn who have no voice, because as Feminist Axion #3 goes: All hetero sex is rape.
Okay; well that is what has been reported, so I guess they are wrong.
Defence need be careful. (If these pics are coming from defense). Nifong's a proven snake. Giving away too much in the court of public opinion may help on FoxNews,. But it will give Nifong a roadmap from which to build a tighter case.
Let him pitch the ripped fingernails theory THEN have defense counter disproving it in court. Not on MSNBC.

The following is a description of each of the 19 photos that sources close to defense attorneys showed to WRAL's Kelcey Carlson on April 16.
12:02:16 a.m. The accuser is on top of the second dancer. The accuser's right thumbnail does not have a fingernail or polish on it. Her right pinky nail also does not have a nail. The men are smiling. The dancers are smiling.

Considering my wife is active Navy and I'm recently separated from Naval service (where I worked extensively with new recruits and career counseling), I was pretty sure I was right. But thanks for confirming.
Maybe I'm mistaken, but wasn't it described days ago that when she started her dance, a thumb nail and a pinky nail were missing? Or maybe just didn't have polish on them?
I must be wrong...Fox wouldn't have an ALERT on old news...would they?
