How on earth does the nationality of the driver have ~anything~ to do with the story?
Or has it finally come to the point that any time a hispanic last name is mentioned within an article, it instantly becomes an immigration issue?
How do you even know the driver is Mexican, for that matter?
I should of added the information I heard on the radio regarding the rest of the issues in the story.
My point about the Birmingham news is that they will intentionally leave out the pertinent details.
Did you notice that the Birmingham news even failed to say which one was driving?
Another reason it matters is because we are required to have insurance.
They can't get insurance because they have no DL's. So we, the citizens end up paying and paying when these people cause tragic accidents like this.

OK, well here's another story: A DRUNK ILLEGAL smashed into my brother head-on last week. Since he has NO INSURANCE, our rates (including my brother's who thankfully escaped with minor injuries; who gives a crap about the illegal) will all rise accordingly.
I agree. This is just another mere coincidence
Because there are LARGE numbers of illegal aliens with false drivers licences or no licence at all causing accidents, often fatal ones. (They aren't required to take a driving test when purchasing a false licence.)
Here on the California Central Coast, an illegal immigrant mecca, there are several accidents a day that are bad enough to make the evening news. Our insurance rates are higher. I have to drive super defensively--three days ago I had to pull over to the shoulder to avoid a Mexican passing in a no passing zone headed right at me. ETC.
How do you know they aren't?
If they were illegal would that make a difference?
Cynical interests -- including political and business -- have worked to frustrate the will of most Americans that our laws be enforced and our borders be secured. Those interests have virtually ~welcomed~ a flood of illegals, with their attendant social costs such as a high rate of impaired and unsafe driving without insurance.
You are correct that innocent Hispanic people suffer from the rage of Americans at this state of affairs. A furious public does not typically respond in a very nuanced way.
My suggestion would be that you direct some of your concern at the politicians responsible for the flood of illegals rather than people who are p.o.'d about it all and don't necessarily wait for the justice system or detailed media accounts before reacting. (The media and the justice system, of course, will not pursue the truth so we'd be waiting until hell froze over.)
