Did anyone watch last night's Sopranos? Tony's daughter Meadow went on a Bush rant, claiming his Administration was rounding up Muslims for no reason...Bush is taking over the world, blah, blah.
Tony Soprano made a crack about Rick "Sanitorium". I couldn't make heads or tails over whatever Christopher was talking about. Carmella stated that she voted for Bush. I read in an interview that the actress Edie Falco hated reciting that line.
The DUmmies are celebrating the Bush bashing.
Wasn't there a crime family in NJ that the Soprano's is loosely based on? They did kill one of thier own, because he was gay.
The female character who doesn't make me want to throw something at the tv is Rosemary Aprile (sp?). She just cracks me up.
So who's hooked on Big Love?
I agree that Meadow is accurately portrayed - the sheltered, spoiled daughter of a rich man would be completely liberal and anti-Bush. That's what makes the show so realistic!
By the way, did you read anything about this corrupt Democratic state senator out of Camden who is building a mansion on the property of his fellow residents who he helped to eminent domain? You can't make this up, New Jersey!
I am. The talent is top-notch, and the storylines are interesting. I know some who refuse to watch it because of it's subject matter. I find that silly. I love The Sopranos, yet don't condone organized crimes.
Polygamy is shown in a terrible light anyway. The husband is half nuts, most of the time.
I guess they don't have anymore ideas, so the writers are putting in Homo advocacy, and anti-bush jabs anywhere they can.
Love it too. The whole show makes my head spin!
I watched a documentary about polygamy awhile back and this show actually comes pretty darn close.
Yep, last night was MY last night for the Sopranos.
It is geniune crappola now, and will not be ruining any electrodes on my tube anymore.
I think they take a little poetic license by having all three wives knockouts, lol.
They're talking about KILLING Vito for being gay, and you call that "Homo advocacy"? That's pretty harsh.
Is that all you heard and interpreted?
Did you have the TV on mute on the other times?
Don't worry about it.
There's always this type of screaming ranting and raving and bitching and moaning when a show doesn't follow certain people's ideas.
It's their show. It isn't as if the show isn't ending here soon or anything anyway :)
Beyond that, I haven't seen the most recent episode but the rest of the season has been just fine.
And yes I think Christopher is getting set up and I think that AJ is going to be in the family business here really soon.
I'm getting hooked on Big Love, mainly because I love Bill Pullman, he's great. I wasn't going to watch when in the first episode Larry O'donnell appeared as the lawyer. I came back. As for the Soprano's, I have been very disappointed except for the first episode which I thought was fabulous. I can't stand the kids, I am beginning to hate phony Carmella, I did love last night that she was so JEALOUS because her friend,Pussy's wife, is doing so well on her own. Looks like some interesting things ahead. I hope.
I've always felt that Paxton was underrated.
my guess on the gay angle is that Tony doesn't whack Vito, at least not yet (Vito is a top earner). Vito will stay in NH and put the arm on all those gay shopkeepers. The extortion money will come back to Tony, and as long as Vito is out of sight and still earning, he gets to live.
just an idea.
True, but he's also a convicted felon.
I'm glad he turned his life around. Seems like a nice guy to me, in the interviews I've seen and read.
Isn't that stupid, I like him and I got his name wrong.
You are right, I loved him in Simple Plan. Billy Bob Thornton was great in that.
