Now that they've shown their weakness, how long till a fatwah is called on CC for showing the Big M in the SuperBestFriends episode?

Maybe we should all send a bag of sand to CC corp hq?

I had presumed that was the case.

Islam receives special consideration because they have demonstrated that they will react violently.

What I bet happened is that at the last moment CC told Matt and Trey they were going to censor the image. Matt and Trey Responding by substituting the real ending for the "make CC look like weasels" ending.

Yeah, I'm surprised to hear this, only because the whole point and message of the episode seemed dependent on not showing Mohammed at the end. Interesting.

I posted last night on this thread that I didn't believe there was any way in hell that Stone and Parker would self-center the image, even for a joke.

It would have made them as pussified and hypocritical as everybody they were making fun of in the episode. Nobody puts that much effort into mocking their own hypocrisy.

I think that they were told, post-Mohammed-cartoon riots, that Comedy Central would no longer air images of Mohammed. They built the whole episode around the censorship they were told would come (while taking side shots at the lame White House press corps, the lame jokes on Family Guy.)

The ultimate point was, you can show Jesus shitting on the President and the American flag, but you can't show a nice Mohammed handing The Family Guy a salmon helmet. The last scene was the key to illustrating how, no matter what "cultural sensitivity" type excuses Comedy Central offered, the fact is that they backed down in the face of terrorism.

The islametards threatened to get violent, and western media (not just Comedy Central) tucked their tails between their legs and begged to be spared.

Pussies.

Beautifully interpreted. It was one of their best episodes. All missiles on target.

Those guys are hitting a whole new level. They're the only guys in media who have the courage to take on this issue.

Can anyone else confirm this post I read on Michele Malkin's site:

OTOH, if you recorded the show, look at the credits: Mohammed shows up for a few seconds from the Super Best Friends episode.

Sounds like Trey and Matt should just let that episode out on the web and see how far it gets?

LOL! They can do no wrong. Right?

Yet they didn't send a "much louder message" when it came to the Virgin Mary.

Your logic is completely flawed. Never did I sugest they can do no wrong, nor did I defend any other episodes. I was talking about this episode, not the Virgin Mary one (which I didn't see), nor the Mr. Hanky one's, nor Towelie, nor am I defending Beavis and Butthead, the Simpsons, or American Idol. I am referring to these two episodes of South Park.

So respond to the substance of what I've said instead of making wild assumptions of my views regarding topics not addressed in the scope of the post. I'm only an occasional viewer of South Park, and have enjoyed some of the material and found some offensive.

"Maybe we should all send a bag of sand to CC corp hq?"

Not a bad idea. A small baggie of sand wouldn't cost much to send.

Those cowards. Matt and Trey rightly and brilliantly took them to task.

Yes!

They snuck big MO into the opening credits last frame, back and to the left.

Take that Viacom!
