"I wasn't making a prediction, I was paraphrasing Cartman's plan for ridding the world of the family guy. Did you see the episodes?"

Yes, i thought you were using a quote for the episode to make that point about SP.... sorry I misunderstood.

sorry I misunderstood.

It's okay. Never take anything I say on a South Park thread seriously.

Has Comedy Central aired any South Park episode featuring an image of Mohammed since the cartoon riots began?

I don't watch every episode they air, but I haven't seen one.

My take on the episode was the same as yours. M&T did conservatives a favor by demonstrating that we are actually more appreciative of other points of view and an open society than are the liberals at Viacom who claim to be tolerant and broad minded.

Seeing my favorite symbols desecrated is difficult but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Comedy Central has crapped on free speech. They have no problem with Jesus being disgraced. Hypocricy at its worst. They guys made their point. Islamofascists won. We lost.

I half agree.

In our favor: they played on the hypocritical nature of the controversy, made fun of Bin Laden and Zawahiri by portraying them as Western-style pop culture critics, and radical Muslims as terrorists ready to bomb those with whom they disagree.

In their favor: NO image of Mohammed, followed by Jesus taking a crap (literally!) on George Bush.

Actually, as I type this, I think it's win-win. Even by caving in where it counts, they got the point across. Whether they genuinely caved in, or censored the image as a joke, the point was made.

South Park has depicted the prophet Mohammed as a character in a previous episode.

I gotta see this!! Do you remember which episode that was?

re: 244 That can't be Mohammed. He's not f**king a camel nor is he wearing a bomb belt nor molesting children.

Mohammed and Islam and CC suck.

are you serious? they've ALREADY shown Mohammad on the show...the Super Best Friends episode. they did the censoring for dramatic effect. we were all anticipating and waiting, and (in South Park fashion) they threw a curve, actually kinda Monty Python style. so cmon now.

Kyle: Sir, just think about what you're doing to free speech!

Cartman: No, think about the people who could get hurt!

TV Exec: I... I don't know who to listen to.

Cartman: OK, I'll make it easy for you... [pulls gun] Pull the Muhammed episode... now!

Exec: OK, I'll listen to you. Julie...

Kyle: No, wait, you can't listen to him... he's a lying deceitful monster who only wants Family Guy off the air.

Exec: But he has a gun.

Kyle: You can't do what he wants just because he is the one threatening you with violence.

Cartman: Shut up Kyle!

Exec: I can't be responsible for people getting hurt. Especially me.

Kyle: Yes, people can get hurt. That's how terrorism works. But if you give in to that dog, you're allowing terrorism to work. Do the right thing here.
