I guess Reggie is a believer in numerology. If allowed to choose any number, I would wear #8. It's my favorite number, not sure why. I'm curious as to what #s other FReepers would choose.

When I was playing ball I always chose #2 or #22. It was a reminder to me to play harder (remember the old Avis commercials?).

Maybe he can be number 5 in Arena Football.

Bush will be the number one draft pick in this year's NFL draft. But he has other commitments that will prevent him from playing until the 2009 season.

LeCharles Bentley, the new center for the Browns, is supposedly petitioning to be allowed to wear "00", which hasn't been seen in the NFL since Hall of Fame center Jim Otto retired.-Eric

I wonder why the officials need to differentiate between offensive skills players. An RB can pass the ball the same as a QB, are they restricted from kicking the ball? I can see the o-line having different numbers, but I don't quite understand the differentiation between skills players.

I'd choose either #8 (Cal Ripken) or #19 (Steve Yzerman) :)

I've got to start reading more than just the headline. I couldn't figure out why George Bush would be more appealing if he wore Chanel #5.
Also, I can't believe we're to post 15, and nobody has chosen to wear #69...or #77 because it's eight more than 69.

I think NFL players should wear numbers according to their accomplishments on the team. #1 being the best.

I'd pick six.
Why? For my college application, one of the instructions was essentially to "demonstrate creativity" in a section of the application form. In a not completely creative move, I remembered that in previous years, they had asked you to make up a question and answer it. So, I posed the question "A wizard is about to transform you into one of the numbers on the face of a clock; which number would you pick, and why?" I chose six, and came up with a bunch of reasons why that number was 'so important'. Seems a little silly now - but hey, I got in.

Whatever happened to the USC sophomore receiver that tried to come out early for the draft with Maurice Clarett?

Simple solution -- list him as a QB, and then play him as a RB. There's no "eligible" difference between the positions, just nomenclature.

If allowed to choose any number, I would wear #8. It's my favorite number, not sure why. I'm curious as to what #s other FReepers would choose. Well, #8 is David Carr's number, so Reggie won't conflict with his #5.
Ooops...was I making assumptions about what team Reggie's going to play for next year?

I used to have T-shirts made up with an 8 put on the side, so I could wear # Infinity. I still have a few of them around.

Mine would also be #8, because of my two favorite athletes (and I know someone is going to get on me for the second one) from to seperate sports, Troy Aikman and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
