This is sad, I'll give anyone that concession. However, I call BS on this story! There aren't any guns in NY! How could this possibly happen?

Truthfully though, this is tragic, esp. considering the randomness of the act.

"I know in my heart that that was my gem," her dad, Cordell Baker, told WNBC-TV. "She was better than diamonds, better than pearls. She was something God sent me."

There aren't any guns in NY! How could this possibly happen? Why, they hitchhike in from eeeeevil red states such as Texas and Wyoming to do their dirty work in innocent, unsuspecting blue states. I'm surprised you didn't know that!

I was going to quote that too, very lovely really. But does her dad realize that she was something some bum who was at his house took away? If the shot was fired from the backyard, it should not be too hard to track down the murderer.
I've got family in Suffolk County, there were two little gals killed in Chicago similarly. All together now: BUSH'S FAULT! (except it is not).

New York needs to build a fence to keep out guns. Oh, that's right, fences sell guns in New York.

Prayers sent for the family of the girl. Hope the perp is punished for his crime, at least.
