The question has come up on different threads here - we know everyone who wants all ILLEGAL immigration stopped, but who is for stopping all LEGAL immigration as well? Whether it is just for a "short" time or permanently, let me know.

From the replies you've gotten, it seems it is true for the majority. And those that want legal immigration curtailed only want it for a temporary time until we have need for more immigrants. I don't see any problem with this. Unless you're trying to say that every Freeper wants all immigration stopped forever? Again, what is your motive behind this rather bizarre quest?

My "point" is that everytime I see "We are only against ILLEGAL immigration", I know that is not true.
Some people are, some people aren't. I think most here and elsewhere, believe legal immigration is good within reason.

You're counting those that want legal immigration stopped temporarily until we have jobs for more in with those that want it halted permanently. They're not against legal immigration - just regulating it to go with the flow of our economy.

I am definitely not saying that every Freeper wants all immigration stopped forever. The clear majority of those WHO ANSWERED are not. Now when someone posts: "No one wants to stop legal immigration", I can cite to this thread.
So, if you read all from above, I think I've posted my "motive" behind this question. Sorry you think it was "rather bizarre." Let me know if there's anything else specifically you don't understand.
When France gave us the Statue of Liberty, there was a poetry contest, RUN HERE, an American woman won the contest, and that poem was put on the base of the Statue of Liberty, long after it was reconstructed and put up here.
Neither that poem, nor the Statue of Liberty, herself, had ANYTHING at all to do with any "foreign governemnt"!
Not quite. What is going on now in the field of legal immigration needs to be stopped, and something radically different introduced instead.
The poem was written for a POETRY CONTEST, run by a N.Y. paper. IIRC, it was while bits and pieces of the statue were sitting here and there, all over N.Y.C., waiting to be put back together.
Yes! I would like to see a Twenty Year moratorium on all immigration so that the U.S. can absorb and socialise the immigrants(legal)and otherwise into becoming Americans. Not citizens of some foriegn country who are just here to suck off the taxpayer.
