When France gave us the Statue of Liberty, there was a poetry contest, RUN HERE, an American woman won the contest, and that poem was put on the base of the Statue of Liberty, long after it was reconstructed and put up here.

Neither that poem, nor the Statue of Liberty, herself, had ANYTHING at all to do with any "foreign governemnt"!
