Cut it ALL off until ALL Americans have jobs, and then we can start letting in a few at a time. That way we could eliminate huge numbers of people from the welfare totals. IF those who are physically capable of working refuse to work, then let them starve.

ALL Americans will NEVER have jobs. Some can't work, some refuse to work, and we are, right now, at an historic low, for American unemployment.

Not all Americans want jobs. Further, there are some that might take jobs except that they aren't qualified for even minimum-wage work (if employers could hire them at sub-minimum wage and be able to fire them at will, the value of such workers might quickly exceed the minimum wage, but otherwise it's not worthwhile for employers to bother).

The real problem is not so much that there are immigrants in the workplace, but rather that in some important ways illegal immigrants can compete in the workplace in ways that citizens cannot.
