The 16-year-old "love child" of New York Yankees pitcher Randy Johnson said her star father coldly responded to letters she sent to him and that she cannot bear to watch him pitch on TV anymore, the New York Post reported Wednesday.
"I would get cards back from him with just his signature 'Randy,' " said Heather Renee Roszell, who sent the letters in an effort to meet Johnson.
Johnson broke off his relationship with the girl's mother, Laura Roszell, 46, while she was pregnant, and he has seen Heather only once, shortly after she was born. He does have "reasonable visitation rights" from a custody agreement, Roszell told the Post.
Heather, who lives with her mother in Langley, Wash., told the Post that she stopped writing letters because "I never got [more of] a response, so it got to the point where I didn't want to deal with not getting the response.
"I don't have a relationship with him."
Johnson is suing Laurel Roszell for $97,000 for child-care payments he made for Heather, according to court documents revealed by the New York Daily News and New York Post on Tuesday.

It's not chump change, but it is lower middle-class income for the child of a multi-millionaire.
". . . for the privilege of knowing her."
KNOWING HER!!??
Ummmm.... the relationship seems to have been a bit closer than that, unless, of course, you're speaking King James biblically.
Creepy.
I'd definitely agree with you on that.
I admit for the average person like myself it seems as though the girl's mom is getting a rather large amount of money (for the record I'm a woman). However she's been the only parent that young woman has ever known. And that big jerk certainly makes enough to be able to afford those payments.
Uh, if he doesn't sue to get the $97K returned, any lawyer that could fog a mirror would sue for future support, etc., based upon the "implied" intention to support beyond the age of majority.
Just in time for opening day! ;-)
Yes he is! But always a bit of a head case too.
I would consider refusing to see your biological daughter, ever!, a case of "abandonment", even if he paid some child support.
Returning her a card without any writting, just but signed with "Randy", like in some third person. What a total jerk. Be a man. Not some 14 year old boy.
Yes.
He is one ugly dude.
You may have a point.
I said that so I could have a reason to dis my ex. But for what she did, I wouldn't doubt it. haha
They don't call him "The Big Unit" for nothing...
Randy "The Big Unit" Johnson may be ugly, but so was John Holmes.
he's just one of thousands of stories of pro-athletes who treat their out of wedlock or from ex-marriage children like this.
Randy makes 97K for throwing a couple innings of baseball. What an ass to treat your daughter like this.
Agreed!
So what? It's HIS money! He's laid out the green for 16 years. And from what I've read here, Moms and the kid want college tuition and a car, which I have a hunch weren't included in the child support agreement. Funny that she no longer wants a relationship with him, but she still wants his money, and more of it.
So, you are advocating that he be required to pay an extra stipend for services not required or taken because "he can affor it"? I don't see where he is trying to end the $60K/year support, but only the $575/month day-care payments. Pay-because-you-can-afford-it sounds awfully socialist to me.
$5,700 a month for 16 years IS big money: almost a million one.
What is this. "From each according to his ability. To each, according to [her] needs"?
