AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1891) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | March 27, 2006 | All of Us

Posted on 03/27/2006 4:46:01 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Last Friday, this space wrote about the problem of illegal immigration and that something should be done about it.

Over the weekend, a demonstration of at least 500,000 strong turned out in Los Angeles to protest against making illegal immigration a felony (it isn't???) and against building a wall along the southern border.

We'll make this quick. Congress, you must be doing the right thing since the body politic seems to believe it will cut down on illegals crossing the border. How so? Why would these folks be upset if the measures were a paper tiger?

Press on!

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

We have this young woman who works the customer service counter and answers the phones and pages people to calls. Well she mumbles....and I mean mumbles ...when she isn't butchering the English language.

take care of yourself!

If you start having additional pain once you get outside to garden. BACK OFF. Please don't risk doing any permanent damage.

Speaking of which, how are you feeling after all you did? Did you rest today?

Your suggestion to Jem..applies to all of us who push ourselves over the limit and then pay for it later.

I'm feeling pretty good. There are a few little places where the PT exercises aren't shaping up the muscles, and those have a twinge or tow in them, but I am feeling amazingly good for having spent 5 hrs outside in marathon clean up.

I took some Aleve after I ate this morning and that got me off and running.

That's good to hear. With your road trips I understand why you want to get a jump on your gardening.

Yes. The roadtrips really cut into my gardening time. Then there's the weather. If it's raining on the weekend, I am out of luck.

It has been raining here all day. It is a cold, slow drizzle. And it's miserable.

I'm with you. I don't think illegals should get any free anything while they're here, BUT, the American politicians police and us have become so weak kneed we don't speak out publically about strangers taking over our country. We offend some with our Christianity and we no longer show it in public, we hide it under a leaf. I don't. We have a lot of people from Mexico here, and when they try and speak Spanish in my presence, I remind them that they are in America and WE SPEAK ENGLISH. Some will not acknowledge me, but who cares. I've even told a couple if they want everyone to speak spanish, go back. Roomey thinks I shouldn't say anything, but I do. It really makes me angry for these people to think we have to cow tow to their mexican ways...they are here in MY country, and I will speak about it. Although I think, if they are in America, abide by our rules, I also think we should have a guest worker program of some sort. I will not learn spanish, or even try to understand it, because we speak English here. When I lived in Germany, I learned their language and conversed with my neighbors and others in their language. I also abided by their laws.

Hang around the vegetable and fruit growing areas, the farms and ranches, you'll see there are a lot of people who will not do that kind of work. Look at the people who picked up the decaying carcases in Mississippi. There are a lot of jobs, menial jobs, Americans will not do. Have you seen middle and high schoolers out picking vegetables and fruit anywhere? This is one of my irritating points. Vegetables are plowed under because there is no one to gather them. I don't know how we can interest some of our people who have few skills to do this kind of work. It's too easy to get on welfare.

I know during spring break some of our college students went to the hurricane hurting areas to help, this is very nice, but it is temporary. These are my thoughts, for what they're worth.

Times sure have changed.

Today we have students blocking major highways in L.A...yet... in my day if we stepped off the school grounds to walk 50 feet to the local dairy for ice cream...during lunch...on a hot summer day...we would be suspended for the day and got a talkin' to when we arrived home.

I know, we're of the same school. We had to stay on campus too. I was a fisherman's daughter, and worked on the boat from the time I could row a skiff. Most of us in my generation did, so it's no big deal. But when I see mid and high schoolers just hanging around the streets, in the summer, I wonder. I know we have a good work ethic, we wouldn't be in the position we are, in the world, if we weren't, but we have so many people who are not working, and refuse to work. There was a class in our local high school that taught youngsters how to clean house, iron clothes and do general "house work", sewing, and cooking, for Home Ec. Mothers complained that this was not correct. Yhe subject was dropped. Now Home Ec consists of I don't know what.

I don't think Home Ec exists anymore.

I believe it is now known as Consumer Science.

I came in for a moment before taking the rest of the brush down to the street. As hubby left the room he declared he was going to leave the door open because "of the aroma you brought with you." HE SAID I STINK!!! Why would he say that. In total there were about 8 overloaded wheelbarrows of brush cleared today.

It is still a little on the coolish side.
