> If Pickle doesn't go home tonight, the point will be made most clearly that this is no longer a singing contest.

That point was made when Mandissa was sent home.

So let me get this straight... Mandisa throws out two clunkers in a row, gets voted off, and it's because she's fat.

Kellie throws out two clunkers in a row, gets voted off... when did Kellie get fat?

Oh, she didn't? So maybe... it had to do with the fact that both of them sang poorly? Naw, that'd be too simple...

I cry every time I hear the National Anthem....what is up with that?

So do I, every single time, and I am NOT one who cries easily.

We love our country that much, I suppose.

I agree--Pickler most definitely did NOT pull off Bohemian Rhapsody. Neither did Constantine.

You cannot vote in Richmond VA for Elliott any more. The lines are way too jammed.

I vote Elliott because of my wife being related to him although I have been floored by how good he is as a singer. If and when he goes my vote goes to Chris simply because I like rock better then what's left.

The McPhee businees smells of BS and I am disgusted by it. I thought the judges were over the top in their criticisms of her and she was entitled to an apology for their rudeness. But, that performance was not good and Wolfstar really laid out the reasons why. To go back and fluff for her was inconceivable and a slap in the face to the viewing public.

IMO:)

With Bo not winning last season, they wanted to compensate in some form

Were they set on Bo winning last year? If so, then they must go by the votes, or he would have won.

despite her receiving the second highest vote total the last 2 weeks.

If they are manipulating, why even announce that she got the highest number of votes. They haven't announced that figure in the past, so they are once again, even if it goes against what they want, going with how America votes.

Why would they have this show to find out what America likes, and then not go with it. That doesn't make sense. If they are in this to make money, why go against what people are saying they want? AND what's wrong with them saying how they view each contestant each night. THEY are NOT the judges at this point are they?? Not IMO. They just give the voting people things to think about, and add some comic relief, but the voting people are the judges now. IF the voting people can't makeup their own minds about what they like and what they don't even when it goes against what those three say, then the voting people deserve what those three give us:)

The judges just can't win here:). Tues night every one was ripping them a new one for being harsh to Katherine, now they apologize, (and I didn't see that much fluff), and they are ripped for fluffing:)

This is suppose to be a fun show, and a fun thread, the show is still fun, but this thread is getting way to serious, looking for consipiacies and drunks:). Come on people, lets just enjoy it for what it's worth, the way it was set up to be and not look for what might be happening.

Is there a full moon tonight?

No, but here is a new moon on Friday and I've heard that can be just as bad or worse.

I was seriously upset when Mandisa left, so I understand!

Me, too. I did cry when she left. It sucks when one of your fav's gets booted.

...liked Catherine as well (my two favorites)...

One of your favorites, but you can't manage to spell Katharine's name correctly! Must not be much of a favorite or is your evaluation of musical talent as good as your attention to detail?

I think what's being said here is that a lot of people (guest professionals on the show) have praised Taylor's musical ability and they can't ALL be wrong!

Re Elliott, misterrob, it's so cool that your wife is related to him. That young man is going far. He's very talented.

Re Katharine, misterrob, thank you. The business of the judges apologizing to her is one reason I DVR the show and watch only the recordings. From this thread, I learn what happens, then I can skip over what I don't want to see. I deliberately did not watch the judges' apology. Not only don't they owe the contestants an apology for their opinions expressed immediately after a live performace, but I think when they do that it's very unfair to the other contestants. No, not very unfair, extremely unfair and prejudicial.

If Katharine now goes on to win this contest, as far as I'm concerned her win will be tainted by the shameless plugging of her on this week's result night. We've talked on the thread about how Simon doesn't want Taylor to win because he doesn't know how to market someone like Taylor. Really, the only two contestants left who are marketable in the world of Simon Fuller, Simon Cowell and Nigel Lythgoe are Chris and Katharine. Watch for them to pimp those two as much as they can without being too obvious the next few weeks.

Only five left, and I still don't have a personal favorite. Being a female, Katharine's charms are lost on me, so I pay attention to her voice and performance skills. Zero appeal for me there. Chris has shown a warmer side to his personality in recent weeks, so I'm more receptive to him than earlier on. But I honestly believe he's nothing special musically. I keep waiting for Taylor to step it up, but so far he hasn't, and that's disappointing. Paris is not developed enough to win this thing. Elliott is the only one of the contestants who has been stepping it up every week.

I didn't see any "fluffing" either. They all said they were too harsh, but it wasn't a "we screwed up, you were perfect", it was just "we were too harsh, it was better than we thought".
