I have heard this and find it interesting but it all depends on who you talk to. If people in Richmond cannot vote then it would seem that it is a local problem. If people can't vote in other parts of the country then he's obviously doing well.

He doesn't expect to win and while he's having a great time and doesn't want to leave, he's certainly realistic about the situation. He's not going to be hurting for a job after the tour and people will likely see him again down the line.

Is it because you feel that she is a really good singer and consistanly outdoes everyone else on the show?

Remember when I posted that I wrote VFTW. I asked them why they were helping her get what she wants.

This was their reply:

She is an incredibly entertaining train wreck that does dumber things every week. At this rate, she'll be sucking on a pacifier and singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star at the finale. Yay!

XXXX

----

LMAO

The only saving grace is that VFTW doesn't have the numbers to get her to win. What's the closest they've gotten? #5 with Savol? Anyone know?

He wasn't in the bottom three so somebody got through. I noticed that Elliot, Katharine and Taylor had the least amount of successful calls.

I have noticed over the weeks that there are times when I hit the redial, that I get a high pitched squeel. It happened a lot for Mandisa, had it occur for Kevin and Bucky, too. I have to admit I kind of wondered about it.

I think Cowboy Troy is a detraction for NS. jmo He reminds me of Roy Rogers.

You don't like Cowboy Troy as a host? : )

Actually, Cowboy Troy is probably the best host they've ever had. Last year they had Leann Rhimes, and I didn't think it could get any worse. I was wrong. Wynonna is horrible as a host.

I see Cowboy Troy and just laugh because all I can think of is "I play chicken with the train". ;-)

I haven't cared for any of the hosts....I think they should get Lance Smith from CMT for next season.

I don't know who Lance Smith is, but they should be able to find someone better than what hey have done. I ahve to say though that I am surprised at how horrible Wynonna is as a host.

He hosts CMT's top 20 countdown....He would be the country equivalent of Ryan Seacrest.

Does it ever occur to all you Pickle Haters that Kellie is doing so well because viewers enjoy her and vote for her?

Your post is as refreshing as your screen name.

Nah. Since no one gets through in Richmond at this point it sort of doesn't matter.

I agree. They need someone who isn't a "talent" in the industry, but someone like AI's Seacrest. And, if they even have a next season, they should expand the televised portions to include the audition process.

This is one of the reason's AI is so popular. We begin rooting for people before they ever get to the "finals".

They also desperately need to upgrade the production value. It looks like it's run by a bunch of amatuers and the sets or depressing!

Netizen, thanks for posting this. FWIW, it appears to me that Ace is a genuinely nice young man. He also has a killer smile and is easy on the eyes, to say the least -- and I also do not think that he is gay (although that really is not our business). BUT I simply did not think he was the most talented singer in the pool, and therefore I was in a hurry to see him leave, before he supplanted someone who gave better performances. I do wish him well in the future. I think he would probably be great in a soap opera (and I don't mean that as a slam) or a situation comedy (maybe they could work in some occasional singing into the plot). I just don't think he's a great singer.

As for Kellie, I certainly do not "hate" her. However, I think she is only moderately talented as a singer, and for me, the AI competition is about singing and performing. Her personality, such as it is, grates on me, so that is not a plus as far as I am concerned. Again, it is my perception that Kellie has given worse performances than some of the others who are left (such as her massive mistakes this week), and therefore, I would like to see her leave earlier rather than later. But again, that's JMO. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, LOL! That's what makes it a horse race. :)

As I mentioned before this part kept me uninterested in using their software:

DialIdol measures the busy signal to determine which Idols are getting the most votes - based on the results it can automatically direct your votes to one of your favorite Idols - but not necessarily your favorite.

Do they get guest stars as well?

Yes, they do. Every week they have an established country artist on as a guest host, and they also do guest judges. Phil Vassar, who is a star in country music, is one of their regular judges. Leann Rhimes was the regular host last year and this year the hosts are Wynonna Judd and Cowboy Troy. But cable simply doesn't reach the same numbers of people that broadcast TV does.

As for Garth Brooks, I think he did retire. I don't follow country music closely, so I don't know why.

I agree with your post all the way around. I could easily see Ace in a Soap Opera. I don't watch them myself but he could do it. Write him in as night club singer or something.

The other problem is - doesn't it run opposite AI's results show or something?

...they know that I go there every year for Christmas and I don’t even ask for presents on Christmas because after I’m done singing there for five or seven hours, whatever it is, room to room, I’m good to go.

Ace sounds like a really nice guy. I hope he develops an acting career, because I could definitely enjoy watching him on the big screen or small. I also think that if he could get with a top-notch vocal coach who could help him lose the falsetto and sing from a bit lower register, he'd actually have a nice singing voice. But Ace's real money is in his face and fabulous smile.
