Maybe Simon has been reading the blogs.
To: Fawn
I like Taylor but I like his singing the most when he is singing a fun song.

Taylor suprassed Sam Cooke's version. It started like Sam Cooke's version but in the end, he added his own superb bluesy, soulful version and then ended it in a rousing magical end ! Who says Taylor is jsut about dancing and performing ? This one proves he can sang !
FOLKS, DO YOU SEE WHAT GOOD MUSIC CAN DO ? Good singers actually shine !
No wonder they're standards !
Try making a standard of today's lame songs.
To: Fawn
I had goosebumps, too! First time this show has given me goosebumps in a loooong time, but that was really great.

Any cat psychologists out there? My one cat will come flying whenever I eat some ice cream...and will not leave me alone until i give her a tiny bit....then she pukes it up. Is she bulemic or nuts? I'm not a cat psychologist, but I can tell you that some cats are allergic to dairy. If you want to share with your cat try a non dairy ice cream. I had a cat that liked buttermilk of all things! lol

Same here - I'll be hitting WalMart tomorrow to get Songbooks 3 & 4....and then let me repeat - I LOVE TAYLOR! He was great tonight....
To: Txsleuth
My TV guide had last week's SNL as a repeat...did I miss a good one?? I didn't see the show, but someone posted the clip here on the thread--it was pretty funny :)

Hildy, I appreciate most of the old standards and pull out my vinyl every so often.
I prefer to listen to Michael Feinstein and have about 14 of his CD's. Rods background music is probably what sold me on the albums..:)

It's already about a million times better then the last two to three weeks, isn't it? Definately! It's not the snooze fest I thought it might be. :)
