No. As long as there is no manipulation of votes, the market rules ( theoretically ). No one really knows, do they, if the votes get manipulated.
I suspect they most certainly do.

Hi, Wolfstar :)
Have the final four already been chosen?
The magazine editors probably chose the four most popular or most recognizable singers for the cover.

Is Simon Cowell Trying To Keep Taylor Hicks From Winning American Idol? Nah, Taylor's accomplishing that all by himself.

A lot of people agree with Simon. Is that so bad? Not to me. I agree with him more often than not.

They can't change it, they can't use a different version????
That's correct. They cannot change the arrangement. We'll see Chris sing a song "as is" this week, for the first time. I'm betting he surprises and knocks one out of the park.

SINGER/ACTRESS MANDY MOORE IS A FAN OF TAYLOR HICKS
See here :
----------------------------------
http://movies.about.com/od/americandreamz/a/dreamzmm041206.htm
EXCERPT FROM THE ARTICLE ABOUT THE MOVIE, AMERICAN DREAMZ :
In American Dreamz Mandy Moore is one of the finalists, but in real life Moore says she doubts shed make it that far. Ive never really entered a real contest before and I think I would have auditioned for American Idol, but I dont think I would have made it too far, laughed Moore. I dont want to say I dont know if I have what it takes but I think I would crumble under the pressure. Like watching every week I marvel at how these people who really have no experience performing, get up on stage and just own it and do their thing. I mean its shocking to me and thats I think what keeps people tuning in each week.
Moores an avid fan of the series. Im pulling for Taylor Hicks. He has my vote big time. I love him. I love that hes original. I love his song choices and his style. Hes really soulful. He seems very unlike any other Idol contestant in the past.

Hi to the three of you...I happened to notice your discussion of 'Someone To Watch Over Me.' Surely one of the top 10 or 20 popular songs ever, it was written by George and Ira Gershwin for the musical 'Oh! Kay!', which opened on November 8, 1926 at the Imperial Theatre, New York. Written for Gertrude Lawrence, the "Kay" in the musical, the song was originally sung from a female point of view.
ASCAP has listed the top five love songs of the 20th Century by decade, and 'Someone to Watch Over Me' was #4 in the 1920's.
'Someone To Watch Over Me' has been sung and/or recorded by literally hundreds of singers, both male and female, worldwide. Almost everyone who's anyone in popular music has done his or her version.
I'm a little disgusted with the AI producers using classic popular songs for a "Rod Stewart genre." I really enjoy Stewart, but the standards he's been recording in recent years are not his songs any more than they are the songs of hundreds of other recording artists who have done them before. I would much rather AI use Stewart's original material -- but I suspect he won't let them.

Thanks for the history lesson!
So 'Someone to Watch Over Me' was originally written for a woman!
It does seem more female friendly.

PS to my 5,674: In 1926, society expected men to take care of themselves. Women needed someone to watch over them. In 2006 I think this has been totally reversed. Otherwise how do we explain all the weepy, "metrosexual" guys around these days?

So 'Someone to Watch Over Me' was originally written for a woman! It does seem more female friendly. You're welcome and yep, it was written for the great star of Broadway musicals, Gertrude Lawrence.
Once upon a time, the idea of a woman looking for someone to watch over her was quite normal in our society. I think, 80 years later, given the sissification of our men, the song might suit an Ace more than a Katherine or Pickle, or even young Paris.
BTW, many Gershwin songs would be great for Elliott to sing since much of Gershwin's material is jazz.

...and the ditzy dames all-too-willing to let them get by with it!Grin...have you noticed how many of today's young women are very tall and almost Amazon-like? These days women are more likely to be tough-as-nails and more hard-bitten than any Dashiell Hammett detective. The very idea of young women today looking for someone to watch over them is laughable.

the song might suit an Ace Ew.
If Chris wins, it'll be because he's a manly man, and a man's man, and a good family man to boot.
