This is bizzare. Looking at the kid, I'd say he is about 6 years old. Kellie is 19 years old according to her bio. If she 's the kid's mom, the would mean she had him at 13 !!

I got to thinking about that. The article said that while she was in the 4th grade and with her grandparents they ran into her mother while they were out eating. That the mother then took it to court.
Well, it takes some time to get lawyers and court dates. There's a good chance that she lived with her mother for 5th and 6th grade making her a bit older, and she is going to be 20 in June, so she might have been 14, which isn't that unheard of.
Good lord, woman. This isn't Salem.

The 28-year-old Southerner does not believe the so-called scandal contributed to his elimination from Idol this past week.
Instead, he puts part of the blame on the fact three Idol contestants (himself, Kellie Pickler and Chris Daughtry) are from North Carolina.
“Where other people might have a whole state voting for them, we got ours split up into three, so I’m sure it probably hurt us a little,” he says.
One person Covington did not have to worry about sharing votes with was Rocky. While his brother did try out for Idol, he was cut during the first round.
“I didn’t want to try out as twins,” says Covington, when asked why viewers never got to see Rocky sing. “I didn’t want to come into this with a gimmick.”
While Covington is now out of the running for the 2006 Idol crown, his future is looking bright. He has learned Sawyer Brown wants to speak to him about possibly joining the band and is preparing to go on the Idol tour this summer.
“Then I’m probably looking towards Nashville to try to find some work.”

He brings up an interesting point. With three of them from NC, were they splitting votes?
Just from looking at the prom pic, I highly doubt she's been 9 months pregnant. Gotta give the girl credit on a nice bod even if she wears skanky clothes.
My actual concern is that AI might be exploiting her, as I've been thinking about it this afternoon.
I thought about that, and I know women that have had several kids and no stretch marks and right back to their trim bodies.
It just strikes me as odd that her mother wouldn't take the little boy to her own parents, instead of her ex husband's parents.
I noticed a thread discussing this topic at another forum and it was suggested that there was another woman and that the little boy is really her half brother.
I suppose that's possible, but again, where is this woman and how is it that she doesn't have him?
Just kind of weird.

And although I guess I'm in the minority here, it just seems tacky to enter into endless speculation that the boy is her son rather than her brother, when there is NOTHING that we are currently aware of to support that notion. If dad's been in and out of jail, I can easily see him hooking up with some other woman while he was out and producing a scion. Rather than referring to him as her "half brother" all the time, Grandpa and Kellie would probably just refer to him as her brother. I find this scenario MUCH more probable than the notion that (a) she got pg at 13 (possible but unusual) and (b) NOBODY in town knows that it happened! If you've ever lived in a small town, you know that everyone knows EVERYTHING! LOL! There are no real secrets in small towns, believe me.

Right. You'd think he would be with her. Especially since he is in and out of prison so much.
I just don't think her brother is her son. It would have come out by now. That's a small town and there are no secrets like that in a small town. Someone would have spilled the beans before now.
As an aside, I sent off an email to VFTW. Told them they were playing into her hands by encouraging people to vote for her. That that would give her what she wants, and Simon too for that matter.
I suggested they would be better off encouraging people to NOT vote for her, especially if they are trying to stick it to Simon.
Been checking around. Thought maybe we might see some leaks about which songs they each will sing.
