Farewell, Bucky. You're a personable guy, but unfortunately, you got more good looks than talent. (Ditto for Ace. I'm getting tired of Ace's hangdog look like the world is coming down around him.)

I've been voting for Chris Daughtry and believe he has a good chance of winning. I predict it will come down to Chris in the top two.
Kellie was unlistenable tonight when she joked about the snot rag. What the hell? That doesn't play well, IMO.

Had to duck out in a hurry earlier, so sorry.
I must say, I am very sad to see Bucky go, even though I knew it was inevitable at some point. This is the stage of the competition where it gets hard to see people leave. If Paris or Kellie go, I won't be too sad, but everyone else will break my heart.
Elliott SHOULD NOT have been in the bottom three. I couldn't believe how shocked he was when Ryan asked him to sing. "Are you serious?", yet he still belted it as good if not better than last night.
Wanted to come back and say good night to my good FRiends!

GOODBYE BUCKY. IT WAS A PLEASURE HAVING YOU ON THE SHOW.
I'LL SEE YOU ON TOUR.
NOW... LOOKING FORWARD TO GREAT AMERICAN STANDARDS NIGHT....
THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST THEME NIGHT OF THE SEASON WHERE CONTESTANTS GET TO SHOWCASE THEIR STRENGTHS.
According to the official Idol Boards ....
MANY MANY songs will be available to the Idols for "American Standards" week.
PLEASE NOTE that they are NOT restricted to doing only those songs on Rod Stewart's "American Songbook" CDs, the whole repetoire is open to them (provided AI has copyright clearance, of course).
For Taylor Hicks fans who have been waiting for the gray haired guy to use the bullet named GEORGIA, this is the time to use it. It is an old song and *IS* an American Standard.
Oh Yeah, Taylor did say he's been raring to sing it too...

I thought the bio film was interesting for Elliot, telling how he's struggled with diabetes and other medical problems. I enjoy hearing these personal details, because it makes the contestants seem more human.

MORE ON THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK....
I GOT THIS FROM WIKIPEDIA
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_American_Songbook
The Great American Songbook is an informal term referring to a period of American popular music songwriting that took place between the 1930s and 1950s. It is considered by many to be the peak of the popular songwriting craft.
Songwriters considered part of this group include:
* Harold Arlen ("Somewhere Over the Rainbow", "Stormy Weather")
* Irving Berlin ("White Christmas", "Unforgettable")
* Hoagy Carmichael ("Stardust", "Georgia On My Mind", "The Nearness Of You")
* Duke Ellington ("In A Sentimental Mood", "It Dont Mean A Thing", "Satin Doll", "Mood Indigo", "Take the A Train")
* George and Ira Gershwin ("Someone to Watch Over Me", "SWonderful", "Summertime")
* Jerome Kern ("Ol' Man River", "The Way You Look Tonight", "All The Things You Are", "The Song is You", "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes")
* Henry Mancini ("Moon River", "Days Of Wine And Roses")
* Johnny Mandel ("The Shadow of Your Smile")
* Johnny Mercer ("One for My Baby (and One More for the Road)")
* Cole Porter ("Night And Day", "I've Got You Under My Skin", "It's De-Lovely")
* Rodgers and Hammerstein ("Oh What a Beautiful Mornin'", "Shall We Dance?", "The Sound of Music")
* Rodgers and Hart ("Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered", "My Romance", "Have You Met Miss Jones", "My Funny Valentine")
Characteristically these songs feature strong melodies, thoughtful lyrics incorporating sophisticated rhymes, and a skillful thematic connection between music and words.
Over the years a number of singers have explicitly recorded or performed large parts of the Great American Songbook, beginning with Ella Fitzgerald's popular and influential Sings the ... Songbook series on Verve in the 1950s and 60's, Tony Bennett at different times in his career, and continuing in more recent years with Linda Ronstadt, Michael Buble, Michael Feinstein, Queen Latifah, Joni Mitchell, John Pizzarelli, Boz Scaggs, Carly Simon, John Stevens, and Rod Stewart.
TAYLOR HAS GEORGIA ON MY MIND ( PROVIDED IT ISN'T STOLEN BY SOMEONE ELSE AND ELLIOT BETTER DEFER TO HIM THIS TIME ).
QUESTION : WHAT DO YOU THINK CHRIS DAUGHTRY SHOULD CHOOSE TO MAKE IT AN ALT-ROCK VERSION ?
To: SirLinksalot
PLEASE NOTE that they are NOT restricted to doing only those songs on Rod Stewart's "American Songbook" CDs, Really? The way I heard it, they could only choose the 60 songs from Stewart's last four albums. But I could be wrong.

Elliot has a fine voice and an appealing personality. I just have one small suggestion for him...grow some hair over his ears.

I am really concerned Pickle will win this thing. I would never buy any of her music, and I think she would be a drag on everyone connected with AI who come after her. If she's the best this season has to offer, then my comment weeks ago that this is a weak group will have been proved totally right.

How beautiful! I feel so special now.
To: silent_jonny
He said earlier that if he doesn't win he's going to Nashville and "keep tryin'"He should. Look what Josh Gracin has been able to accomplish. Of course, I think Josh is much more talented than Bucky, but you never know. Could turn out Bucky can write good songs, or he may blossom with the right agent and vocal coach. He should follow his dream.
