"I rocked!"LMAO!!!
As someone on another Idol board said, Ace must've confused the word "rocked" with "sucked".

I agree. It could be the reason he had that there's no way I wanted to sing this godawful song, NO effen way, look in his eyes. Musicians who play in bar bands say that Country Roads is on their Music from Hell list. You know songs that you will have to sing for eternity over and over.

OMG!! I would LOOOVE Monkees night!!! LOL--the music would actually be entertaining, but can you imagine the contestants getting sage advice from Peter Tork? :)

Katharine- I hate to say this, but I think this will be another bottom 3 week for her. She is my favorite, she is beautiful and has a fantastic voice. She just has a hard time really connecting with the audience, and after all, that't how you sell records. She is always just sitting on the verge of something great, but just can't get there. Hi, CB :)
McPhee had a perfectly good song to start with--she could have really had a moment, like Simon said. But instead she chose a very boring song to perform. It's like she's sabotaging herself.

Hi Jonny. Thanks for the ping. Hey, at least Ace didn't rip open his shirt to show his scar. He does have that "pick up the mic stand" thingy down pat, though, unlike Taylor, who was lucky he didn't fall on his butt.

I did see Simon kind of trying to control Paula in the background after Taylor sang. Paula had been up dancing and waving her arms like everyone else in the crowd. Simon kind of pulled her back down into her seat, then pulled her arms back down to the table.LOL!

Grin...re Simon and Paula. Simon also said something to Paula after he got her back in her seat. I wish I knew what. Have you noticed that Paula doesn't beat on Simon or hug him as much as she used to?

McPhee is extremely self-conscious in a negative way. I still get the strong impression that she behaves the way she thinks people (i.e., her vocal coach mom) expect her to behave rather than just relaxing and being herself. As a result, her body language and movements are extremely awkward. Exactly. In the rehearsal footage, she was loose, bouncy and having a good time. But last night, she was buttoned up and deadly serious--as she seems to be every week. And she screamed through half that song, trying to be dramatic. Didn't do anything for me.

In the rehearsal footage, she was loose, bouncy and having a good time. For Katharine, even loose, bouncy and having a good time looks awkward and self-conscious. I mean that in the 2nd dictionary sense: Uncomfortably conscious of oneself as an object of the observation of others : ILL AT EASE
Katharine always looks ill at ease to me.

Clearly not the biggest fan, Wynonna answered in a diplomatic yet honest way. She said: ["Don't know a lot about it. I have to be honest with you. I think that there's a lot more going on than just talent these days. I don't really know. I've seen her sing maybe once or twice and I think she's good. There's a lot more to it these days . . . the full package. You know that. A lot more artists are making it with more than just a voice.
Clearly not the biggest fan? Wynonna is clearly jealous.
