Ah yes, the cocktail party line. This ring has a flip top gem stone. Just flip it back and the hollow gem stone doubles as a shot glass. :)
And Billy Crystal (who I normally like) was on Letterman a few minutes ago and out of nowhere he starts praising Bill Clinton. "Oh, oh," he said, almost orgasmic. "The man is a genius, he's so charismatic." Then he made fun of President Bush. Double-blech.
Or a good place to stash those extra pain pills when you don't want to take a purse to the party with you.
Bucky will perform Fat Bottom Girls! LOL!
The Gherkin (not Ace, like I thought) will do Bohemian Rhapsody. "What's a rhapsody?"
Chris: Innuendo. I don't think I've heard that one ...
And Ace will tackle We Will Rock You.
"I urbanized the verses a little, just by riding on (the notes). I put a little R&B soul on it.
Which means he ruined it.
The other songs choices are in SirLinks post #3,735.
LOL Or perhaps the pills go in a matching pendant!
Yeah I saw Crissy Matthews and turned the channel.
I am feeling like crap tonight, not sure if it is my allergies or what it is. I was dizzy earlier this evening and now I am sneezing my head off. I think I am going to hit the rack, hopefully I can get some sleep.
Good Night you 2. I'll be following the thread tomorrow. I like to watch the show and read the thread at the same time.
The show is only 1 hour long tomorrow.
I suppose your allergies could be kicking in. Good night. Tomorrow should be fun. At least we will recognize some of the songs! :)
Why ask me? You posted it.
Good night :) I'm not feeling very well either.
Not sure how he's going to fit his creepy "come to bed" stare at the end of a baseketball anthem but I'm sure he'll try. Weird choice IYAM.
Bucky Covington, Fat Bottomed Girls
Awesome! You won't be able to understand one word he says but someone needed to do that song. He'll murder it though...
Chris Daughtry, Innuendo
I don't know a thing about this song and the 30 second clip on iTunes doesn't show me much. Honestly, I have zero idea how it's going to come across.
Elliott Yamin, Somebody to Love
This has the potential to be the best of the night. I'm still not sold on his voice like everyone else but he has a chance tonight.
Katharine McPhee, Who Wants to Live Forever
Good song but she'll need to do what she hasn't done and connect with it.
Kellie Pickler, Bohemian Rhapsody
This is one of those Idiot/genius call. It has the potential to be an absolute train wreck. I can see no way that her country twang doesn't murder the operatic parts of the song. But if she stays with the more rock parts of the song it might not be awful. Either way, she's safe so why not take a chance. The American people are just dumb enough to let her slide.
Paris Bennett, The Show Must Go On
Not a bad choice for her. Could be pretty good.
Taylor Hicks, Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Honestly, this is the song I had in mind for him. He will be able to get back to his crazy antics on stage which is what he needs to do. Yes, Simon will call it karaoke but it won't matter because Taylor will have done what he does best which is show his passion on stage.
I do not get Ace and Kellie's picks at all and they have the best chance of being train wrecks IMHO.
Love your cynicism about the voters. <^..^>
I'm trying to figure where Mandisa's votes will go, if they even bother voting. I also wonder why no one dressed her prettier for that last show. She's a lovely girl, and at this point non-standard appearance can help. Think Scot last year, and how far he got with his great voice and song presentation.
That, and the talk about the horrible comments from the audience make me wish the Idol producers could do something to get her back, like maybe have someone drop out....it's probably not possible, as they did that last year
In retrospect, it wasn't fair last week. Lots of stars would never sing a country song, as it isn't their style. They should've let them do country or blues. A real idol should develop their own unique style, not mimic others.
The Gherkin (not Ace, like I thought) will do Bohemian Rhapsody. "What's a rhapsody?"
She will murder the song! Maybe we can get rid of her this week.
Agree with you. As for TAylor, at first I thought this song would be good for him, but as time went on and I listened to other clips, I had hoped he would do something different. He doesn't need more Simon negativity. jmo I'm hoping Taylor can put his own twist on it and do a great job. He needs it.
On another forum, they joked about how some gay guy dressed her for last weeks show as a payback for her 'perceived' anti gay comment.
I think a lot of her votes will go to Paris.
We can hope, but Bucky is there yet as a cushion.
As much as I hate it, the Gherkin is safe. She has bombed before (Suds in the Bucket and the Stevie Wonder song) and sailed through. America loves a dumb blonde...
Kudos to Bucky for picking the politically incorrect song but he will likely kill it and unless the NASCAR vote really turn out, he's likely to go. Ace is also likely to be in trouble as I have no idea how he is going to pull of We Will Rock You. Not his style at all.
I'm waiting to see how the performances go. I'm thinking if Kellie has a weak performance, I might vote for Bucky if it would help her out the door.
I just read on MJ's blog that his original song choice was scrapped at the last minute. Spoilers say it's CLTCL now.
