Demographics. She's the only Barbie doll left (little girls), she's done awfully well for herself without much parenting (mothers), she's even makes Simon laugh. (humorists)

All of the negative rumors just kind of help her, and fortify the concept that she does well for a girl who raised herself in a room in her grandpa's trailer (Americans like a good sob story).

And you know what? She CAN sing. All of the other girls have had professional training. She's the one for whom the show has been more than career enhancing...it has been life-changing.

Probably the best place would be the idolonfox.com forum. They have a board for each of the contestants, and the fans are crazy. You can tell most are kids, but there are some adults who are worse than the kids.

AOL Poll is pretty much an internet poll. It was a pretty good indicator last year of who's getting votes.

As of now, Kellie has gone into 2nd place and Ace picked up a few extra. Here's the line up...

Ryan Seacrest Confirms Teri Hatcher Romance 3/31/06

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest has confirmed he is dating Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher.

The talent show host appeared on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno last night (30MAR06) and Leno asked him about pictures of the couple kissing which appeared in an American magazine.

Seacrest said, "Yes, we're dating. She's fantastic, she's great. I think she's a beautiful woman, she's a great dresser.

He jokingly added, "We can share jeans, it's perfect."

Seacrest managed to side-step further questions about the relationship, but was put on the spot again when Los Angeles radio station KTLA's entertainment reporter Sam Rubin called him live on air.

Rubin also quizzed him about the photos, with Seacrest saying, "I think we can assume that we've been together.

"If I wanted to have my picture taken I would have gone to (popular celebrity restaurant) The Ivy, that (the restaurant where he was photographed with Hatcher) was far out of town.

"That was a surprise to me."

When Rubin asked if he was embarrassed by the photos being published in a national magazine, Seacrest replied, "I'm not embarrassed, she's beautiful."

When asked if the couple would be going on another date Seacrest quipped, "You'll have to ask her."

I got this information from a poster in the American Idol official boards regarding the Land line call percentages for each Idol contestant for last Tuesday's theme ( 21st century music ).

Here it is ... gives you an indication of who is getting most of the votes.

The landline results of this sort and others from
"dialing" estimates have had Taylor in the #1 spot by a LARGE MARGIN since day 1 of voting. they have been pretty spot-on in their stats.

This past week the bottom 6-7 were so close in numbers that mobile phone votes or texting was literally make or break for them as far as ranking goes. It's fun to see these "landline totals" and figure them into the busy signal type way of guesstimating... turns out to be quite similar when you look at the numbers.

These "landline totals" are supposedly the percentage of the populace who voted using standard landlines for each contestant. There is a margin of error, and if you add up the "averages", they come out to be about 99.5 instead of 100 because of rounding off & margins, etc.

They've been pretty derned accurate last year & this year they've been spot-on. Mobile calls & texting are make or break in some cases... This week (and last week) was a perfect example of that-- these are just landlines, no telling what the mobile & text totals are.

A lot of folks don't even have landlines and only use modem or mobile, so it's very iffy... but the landline totals & "busy" percentages give a good rough estimate of the rankings. this week alot of the contestants were SO CLOSE in their totals that the bottom 6-7 were in a danger zone & no real accurate "vote-off" prediction was possible without more (mobile/text) info.

BOTTOM LINE : IT AIN'T EVEN CLOSE.

THE ONLY QUESTION IS --- WILL THE SOUL PATROLERS GET LAZY AND COMPLACENT BECAUSE OF THE HUGE LEAD TAYLOR HICKS IS GETTING ( DOUBLE THAT OF THE NEXT STRONGEST VOTE GETTER ).
