Why I Support President Bush and the ZOT!
Posted on 03/19/2006 6:29:28 AM PST by thousand dollar hamburger
I think he has a sincere desire to help everyone. he has even gone out of his way to embrace people like Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy. He does not hold grudges as shown by his willingness to bend over backwards to allow terrorist supporting nations to operate our ports. We need this type of benevolent leader.
Our President is not a cheapskate, as he has opened up our budget to give to anyone who might need anything.
Aliens from all nations are welcomed into our great country without having to deal with mundane bureaucratic State approval. Cutting government red tape -- that's the Bush way!
Yes, our Prseident even realizes that occupying as many countries around the world as possible is the best way to spread American ideals.
We are truly lucky to have this great man. I suggest that at 10:00 AM EST, we all stand up in unison and shout -- HOORAY FOR BUSH!!!

No, the weight is wrapped around with two sets of rope. One tightens one set to pull the weight forward, and then the next, repositioning the frame when necessary.
With a proper framework, only two people, (one if absolutely necessary), could move a stone of almost any weight to exactly the spot desired.
And yes, it would be a tedious process.
I would use a different procedure for longer distances.

I'd like a tour of your workshop. Do you have a website for it?

Notice that the tripods are easy to reposition, and that with a few more poles, you could make a sled to ride over the smaller logs set in advance of it.
That would do for short runs. For a longer distance, I would shape up something like very large solid cart wheels to encompass the stone, and turn the whole thing into a large hogshead.
When you throw ropes around such a construction, a small team of men can move it relatively quickly and easily, even up small slopes.
With ropes and wooden devices, stone age men moved incredibly large objects.

We hashed out the religion question back on the original Undead Thread. If I may summarize (while borrowing from the very good thoughts of our late Polish Papa), we concluded that, although all our divergent beliefs cannot be equally correct, given that many of them are mutually exclusive, we are, nonetheless, equal as believing persons, before God and before one another.
Therefore, even if I believe another person's faith is totally erroneous, I still respect him or her as a "person of faith," with the same inborn capacity to engage with the Divine as I have.
SO, on the Undead Thread, we emphasize our common humanity and its potential, and de-emphasize our particular differences of doctrine. This is in keeping with the U.T.'s role as a refuge from the slings and arrows of outrageous opinion out there in the rest of Free Republic, not to mention the Real World.

I couldn't have said it better! And didn't you write a "letter" about who we are, as Denizens of the UT? I think it might be good to post that again soon, so that newcomers will know exactly what we do and don't do here.
(You're so good at that!)
How was supper? And when is Vlad's next doctor visit?

Yes, I agree - Christians are Christians, plus the Jews are part of our 'family'.
There are some terrible bigots on this site - both Catholic (aka "One True Church") and Protestant (aka "Pope is the AntiChrist") - such sectarianism is utter nonsense.

Supper was noisy, but filling - steak, potatoes, salad - and Vlad will be going to the doctor the week after next. It's a little overdue, but there was a glitch with his insurance coverage which has now been resolved. He's flourishing, in spite of the Spits! Growing out of his 3-6 month clothes, smiling and giggling, and lots of conversation of which the main point is "Goo!" (Followed by Spits.)

There are some terrible bigots on this site I know ... it surprises me sometimes, that there are people like that out there, somewhere. When I meet people in real life, they seem normal enough, but they could be totally nuts, right?
