like reading the King James Version of the Bible, I just don't understand the language

For some reason, I never had trouble understanding the KJV. I liked other translations better, but I read KJV on my first half-dozen or so times through the New Testament and never had a problem with understanding things. Of course, that was years ago, and I haven't done any Bible reading in a long time.

I do read the Bible, prefer NKJV or NASB or NIV. My husband always preferred KJV and I never understood why, when there were others written in modern English. Some say you loose the original meaning, but you can always look up the greek words in a Lexicon.
