Knowing how to win baseball games is different than just knowing how to hit home runs.

They are in the same league as the NBA! It's a show, not a contest.

They want to get back to spring training.
This World Baseball stuff is foolishness when American teams are getting ready for the season.
Nobody cares here in the States. Nobody.

In reality we also lost to Japan because of a bad call.

If the US puts the same team on the field at the All Star break rather that at the the start of spring training, the US rolls over everybody......easily.

"What is it with american super teams...the U.S. olympic hockey and basketball teams....and now this disgrace."Chemistry....
And they never seem to be as hungry as the other national teams.

Yeah but the game was in San Diego so it was a home game for Mexico. LOL!

Our hitting just didn't come through when needed, Dontrelle Willis stunk up the two games he pitched (win one of them, D-Train, and we're in the semis), and frankly, Buck Martinez did a lousy managing job. He had no strategy for when the homers weren't coming.
All in all, this team should have done much better.

"DISGRACEFUL....The U.S.A. goes down 2-1 to Mexico who were the heavy underdog....team U.S.A. with all of its heroes manages to lose to Canada...Korea...and Mexico...and is eliminated.
The country that created baseball goes home.We lose with the greatest players available against day laborer baseball players. What is it with american super teams...the U.S. olympic hockey and basketball teams....and now this disgrace."
The level of play would have been better had it been at mid-season, but it still looked to me that the players took it for granted and thought it would be some exhibition.
...........
Losing these kind of events on the world stage is embarrassing, and it is somewhat of a propaganda thing (you can bet Cuba, if they win, will use it).
A few years ago the U.S. amateur boxing team fought the British team, and they lost EVERY bout. The press there made a big deal over it, and when I e-mailed someone I knew there, he told me "boxing is a combat sport, and you guys just aren't good at fighting." So it is a national pride thing.
