Not Ready To Make Nice
Forgive, sounds good
Forget, I'm not sure I could
They say time heals everything
But I'm still waiting
I'm through with doubt
There's nothing left for me to figure out
I've paid a price
And I'll keep paying
I'm not ready to make nice
I'm not ready to back down
I'm still mad as hell and
I don't have time to go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
I probably wouldn't if I could
'Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is you think I should
I know you said
Can't you just get over it
It turned my whole world around
And I kind of like it
I made my bed and I sleep like a baby
With no regrets and I don't mind sayin'
It's a sad sad story when a mother will teach her
Daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger
And how in the world can the words that I said
Send somebody so over the edge
That they'd write me a letter
Sayin' that I better shut up and sing
Or my life will be over
I'm not ready to make nice
I'm not ready to back down
I'm still mad as hell and
I don't have time to go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
I probably wouldn't if I could
'Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is you think I should
I'm not ready to make nice
I'm not ready to back down
I'm still mad as hell and
I don't have time to go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
I probably wouldn't if I could
'Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is you think I should
Forgive, sounds good
Forget, I'm not sure I could
They say time heals everything
But I'm still waiting
I don't know what you're talking about. I think she's incredible talented as well...what's She-Daisy?
Would Manes would fight & kill to keep her friends out of Saddam's rape rooms? No. She's an appeaser - she'd volunteer to lick the floor clean, because "war is bad".
She did back down--or pretended to--on Diane Sawyer, but we all saw through it that it was just for the $$$, and that's what she's REALLY mad about. Her defiance and anger is no longer about George Bush or the issues; it's about how dare we disagree with her and how dare she suffer the consequences. That I cannot respect.
"I don't have time to go round and round and round"
Yet you INSIST upon doing just that, Dixie Chick
"It's too late to make it right"
You got that right !!
AH....but it's incredible how quickly Country Music did drop the Chicks. One day, they were all over the radio, the next day....NOTHING. I've never seen anything like it...it was like they never even existed. It wasn't just their politics, I think they pissed off alot of people in the Country world. But then again, the Country World wasn't very good to them. Remember how Mike Wallace helped them get the money that was owed to them. They were really taken advantage of. But the stunt they pulled at the Country Music Awards was unacceptable. They just had a habit of speaking badly of their fellow Country Singers, and that's just tacky.
I wouldn't buy their album either. But I plan on downloading it and making my own CD without the trash songs on it. I like their music in general. I can just do a bit of editing out of their junk songs.
Well, seeing as the only time I listen to the radio is when I go to the grocery store or to pick up my son from preschool ( it takes me about 3 weeks to use a tank of gas) I don't really need to worry about replacing them. :)
I guess you admire Benedict Arnold. He never backed down either, nor did Hanoi Jane Fonda.
May the Dixie Beeyotches Rot in hades.
I wonder if the whole family is lefty?
I'm taking emotion out of it. Taking a stand is hard enough...(forget what the stand is, this is America and we're all allowed to do it). It cost her alot. Many perfomers have backed down when confronted, she didn't. She's willing to take the consequences, and I do admire that. I wish some Conservatives would be that bold.
'Wide Open Spaces' sold 12 million copies
'Fly' sold 10 million copies
'Home' sold 6 million (Nat made her comment just as the third release from the album hit #1)
'Top of the World Tour - Live' sold less than 500,000 (however, I don't think live albums do well anyway)
Country music has been very good to them. We'll see if this album sells.
Well I could understand you having respect for someone who is the enemy. Hell, my Grandfather use to speak of how much he respected the German military in WWII. Of course, it didn't stop him from shooting the SOBs he was fighting.
But to actually admire your enemy is a twisted logic that most right thinking Americans will never understand.
Dixie who??
So who did they pay to write this song?
