Not Ready To Make Nice
Forgive, sounds good
Forget, I'm not sure I could
They say time heals everything
But I'm still waiting
I'm through with doubt
There's nothing left for me to figure out
I've paid a price
And I'll keep paying
I'm not ready to make nice
I'm not ready to back down
I'm still mad as hell and
I don't have time to go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
I probably wouldn't if I could
'Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is you think I should
I know you said
Can't you just get over it
It turned my whole world around
And I kind of like it
I made my bed and I sleep like a baby
With no regrets and I don't mind sayin'
It's a sad sad story when a mother will teach her
Daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger
And how in the world can the words that I said
Send somebody so over the edge
That they'd write me a letter
Sayin' that I better shut up and sing
Or my life will be over
I'm not ready to make nice
I'm not ready to back down
I'm still mad as hell and
I don't have time to go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
I probably wouldn't if I could
'Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is you think I should
I'm not ready to make nice
I'm not ready to back down
I'm still mad as hell and
I don't have time to go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
I probably wouldn't if I could
'Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is you think I should
Forgive, sounds good
Forget, I'm not sure I could

"They should be from France".
Careful what you wish for. I've HEARD Texans speak French! =:O
I will be very interested to see how conert ticket sales go for them. I know if I was managing them, I would schedule low-capacity venues, so to lower expectations. (When the Chicks made their comments in 2003, their tour was already sold out and the tour refused to give refunds)
However, I understand they failed to sell out 3000-seat arenas during the Vote for Change Tour in 2004.
The Chixie Dicks are "mad as hell". Let's go to the Chixie Dicktionary for further review. On further review, we find that they have finally spoken the TRUTH:
Mad \Mad\, a. [Compar. Madder; superl. Maddest.]

Laura was discussing this yesterday. She basically said "a) thanks for the mention, b) that's some bad writing right there, and c) do NOT mess with my mother, rest her soul."
And notice the twin strawman: "hate a perfect stranger." It was nothing about hating her, only what she said; also, famous people aren't "perfect" strangers, since they're putting a lot about themselves right out there for all to see.
I thought they swore off country and were going to go pop/top 40....
_______
not really on topic, but most of what I hear on country music stations IS pop/top 40 material. With a little twang thrown in.
Their sound has been replaced as well. If you want the 3-girl group, sheDaisy is out there. If you want the sassiness, Miranda Lambert has a new album. If you want a good redneck gal, Gretchen Wilson is HOT.
The Dixie Chicks make me embarassed to say i play the banjo.
SPeaking of DIxie, has anyone seen reviews of Larry the Cable Guy's new movie?
The Dixie Chicks make me embarassed to say i play the banjo.
Speaking of Dixie, has anyone seen reviews of Larry the Cable Guy's new movie?
Liars. They screwed the pooch... Its like some Joe Schmo having the hottest, most nicest woman in town then screwing it up by checking out some ugly chick then saying he likes the ugly chick "better" after the hot chick dumps them like lose garbage.
Bull... They had it all and messed it up when they decided to insult their fans. Aint no way the teen girl fan base will compare to the country base...no way at all. They can't be happy about their new rank in the music scene. To say they like it is only perpetuating the idea they are morons.
Thanks for posting the words to the song. Sounds like somebody pissed off the supersized ego(and body)of a "superstar" and she had to come down off her throne to scold the little people.
Regardless of what one thinks of them politically, they defintitely paid their dues. The band had been around for 6 years or so prior to Natalie coming on board. Natalie is the 2nd or 3rd lead singer for the band.
Put me in the "undecided" category. :-p
Well, at least she's got the prerequist to being a democrat covered.
Here are the first 2 definitions of "mad" from Merriam-Webster Online...
1 : disordered in mind : INSANE 2 a : completely unrestrained by reason and judgment
