Suddenly the eight-member rival pack burst into view. The alpha scrambled to his feet, but too late.

Howling and barking, the enemy chased him down and mercilessly attacked, killing the hapless victim within a couple of minutes.

I didn't know wolves were republicans.....

There is a frikkin' herd of deer savaging every growing thing on my property - I would love to relocate 20-30 of them to this wonderful natural habitat :).

Hungry Mich. Wolves Turning on Each Other!

I opened this thread expecting a story about Michigan democrat politicians fighting each other over declining district populations and redistricting...

"But the rival pack's brazen invasion of another's territory was a sign — the wolves are hungry."

Peterson has been living off the taxpayer dime for decades. Now he's hunting for a taxpayer grant to study the affect of global warming on the moose population.

The National Park bureaucrats have devastated the fishing and boating community on the island. The eco-fascists tried to throw all boating visitors off the island by refusing to maintain docks. The boaters had to band together to assert their rights to use the island, spending $200,000 in court to force these bureaucratic fascists to do their job.

I have no use for federal bureaucrats and their untenured con-men who abuse this property.

The federal fascists should be thrown off the island and it should be returned to its rightful owners - the people of Michigan.

The idyllic natural balance described in the article by what sounds like a bureau-scientist, is a warm fuzzy delusion.

It is not unknown for predators to kill off enough of the young that the species goes locally extinct.

For example, while the cougaur was "protected" by the Panther Panderers fraudulently spending ESA and other money on a cat with a population of some 32,000 animals, their "endangered" cat helped the Desert Bighorn Sheep over the cliff.

Now that population sleeps the long night of extinction.

Good going, AgencyPersons!

If over population is a problem then here's a solution that can be provided by California.

Capture the excess wolf population in Michigan. Place temporary, construction fencing around the state capitol building in Sacramento. Release the wolves into their temporary pen when California's legislature is in session.

The moose population at 450 this winter... Presently, there are about 15 moose for every wolf.

So we're talking about what, 30 wolves?... Three or four wolf packs?

Do they want a sustainable population of wolves in the park or not? Jesus Christ, the local SPCA is taking care of more animals than that.

Seems there are three alternative: Feed the damned things until winter's over (a short-term solution at best), cull their numbers (either naturally through starvation, cannibalism and disease OR by permitting a few lucky hunters to each take a wolf), relocate some wolves.

So simple. Why is this "problem" worthy of an entire AP article when there are such simple, obvious, low-cost, administrative fixes available? What's next?: Should Marcie, the secretary, put her inbox on the left side of her desk, or on the right side?
