I hate to say (Hail to thee dear P.B. High) it but he looks better in baby blue than he does in Mules maroon.

ESPN would have had really good ratings if they had only had a little hype, and not kept the game such a secret.

Just curious, what does the photo have to do with the game?

North Carolina forward Tyler Hansbrough is the unanimous selection as the 2006 Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman of the Year and Roy Williams won ACC Coach of the Year honors by an overwhelming margin in balloting released today by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association.

That picture is Tyler in high school.

If you listen to ESPN one would think that the ACC or the Big East are the only teams playing this season.

University of Memphis number 3 has set all kind of records and gets absolutely no respect nor press.

Well, the ACC has a rich tradition and Memphis does not. Perhaps unfair, but that is the way it is.

Adam Morrison is player of the year. Gonzaga owns the ACC.

Don't be surprised if Duke doesn't make it to the Sweet Sixteen. Lack of back court quickness could hurt them. Duke's interior defense is also suspect.

UConn, Memphis or Gonzaga will win it all.

You got that right. How does the #1 team lose twice and only drop two spots. Duke cannot beat Memphis, UConn, or Gonzaga.

Duke losing to FSU last week; and beating FSU at the earlier meeting with officiating so bad, the refs were suspended for a game.

Number 3?

In every poll I've seen it's (1)Duke, (2)Villanova and (3)Connecticut (6)Tennessee.

I understand that ESPN plans to change the P to D . . .

Everybody Sees Duke Now.

Sheesh.

(and I actually like Duke's style of basketball . . . )

I think it's the RPI. According to various RPI calculations Duke is still on top.

I'd like for the Zags to win it all, but they looked very vulnerable against Loyola Marymount. Then again, they rallied to come back after being down by 15 or so in the second half. That shows heart and indomitable will.

I think the leader with players in the NBA is Duke with 30. North Carolina is second with 29 and I think Arizona is third.

There is also a rivalry between the two which adds to the hype.

I can't stand ESPN. Except for baseball and hockey games, I can't watch that channel for more than 5 minutes.

The Collegiate Basketball News Men's RPI College Basketball Ratings

Through games of Sun., Mar. 5, 2006

CARMEL, INDIANA - The Rating Percentage Index (RPI) has been used by the NCAA since 1981 to supplement the selection of at-large teams and the seeding of all teams for the NCAA basketball tournament. This list is an independent duplication of the RPI without input from the NCAA, which does not release the RPI to the public. It is derived from three component factors: Div. I winning percentage (FI, 25%), schedule strength (FII, 50%); and opponent's schedule strength (FIII, 25%).  Different weights are given to the location of the game for both the winner and loser of the game.  Games against non-Division I opponents are not used in calculating the RPI.
