Hottie - what kind of dog is that? I just got a black lab/chow puppy that looks very similar to that one and I'm trying to imagine what he'll look like all grown up.

He's gorgeous. Thank you! I thought that might be what my sweetie will look like. I'll have to post a picture of him sometime. I don't have any here at work.

I'm not sure I believe the AHS anyhow.
Maybe one of their employees did this, unauthorized, and they got all embarassed and covered it up.
. . . . did somebody say, "Cute doggie pictures"?????

"Can you say, 'High Energy Lab', boys and girls?"
I don't know where she finds all that energy. Here she is bouncing up and down like a lunatic on the starting line, while I try to get her little fleece blanket and her leash off . . .

It was 23 degrees with a 15 mph wind gusting to 20. You can see how cold everybody is (except the Labs of course who loved it.)

My "girl" is lab/springer mix. She's mostly black with the white springer markings on the face and chest. She's smaller than a regular lab, and can she jump. She also has the softest fur I've ever encountered on a dog.
To: AnAmericanMother
I've noticed that horses and dogs (at least the types of dogs I deal with!) LOVE cold weather? It's crazy!
The dog I posted the pic of is very laid back...hehehehe

I don't have a photo but we have a Black Lab/Chow mix who at 7 is simply the finest dog I have ever encountered. He has the bark and protectiveness of the Chow, and he is the absolute perfect dog with kids - must be the black lab.

TS

What is it with the soft fur on these lab mixes? Every person that encounters my boy, the first thing they say is ,Gosh his hair is so soft.
Your girl sounds like a border collie.

Exactly! That's how my little boy is behaving. He's so smart. So far he's learned how to sit, but that's about it. If I have the treats in my hand, he immediately sits down. I need to teach him another trick.
I can see the chow in him (even at 12 weeks) when another dog comes near him. He thinks he's ferocious. It's hilarious to see my puppy get tough with a full grown lab. One of these days I'll get his picture posted.
