Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett Dies

MINNEAPOLIS Mar 6, 2006 (AP)— Kirby Puckett died Monday, a day after the Hall of Fame outfielder had a stroke at his Arizona home, a hospital spokeswoman said. He was 44.

It was a joy to see him play. You could argue that he saved baseball in Minnesota. If it weren't for him maybe the Twins would be playing in some other city now.

He reminded me of our Edgar Martinez (Mariners) - a sportsman and a great player who gave his city baseball

SO sad. I'd heard on the news yesterday about his stroke, but hadn't seen any news this morning. I always enjoyed watching him play. He seemed to actually ENJOY what he was doing, as opposed to some of the other pro baseball players who just look like they're there for the paycheck.
