How do I add pictures to my profile?
Posted on 03/04/2006 8:37:37 AM PST by Leatherneck_MT
I've searched for this on the site and I'm coming up blank. Can anyone give me some idea on how this is done?
Thanks in advance.

You'll have to find a site to host your images. I use imageshack and tinypic.com.

Same way that you post pics in a thread < img src= * URL file location * >
You need to have the pics hosted on the web somewhere.

In [search], type in "HTML sandbox" . Without the quotes.
The short answer is you can't. Not if the image is on your own computer.
The image must be on a hosting site (most are free) somewhere in the web already.

The HTML Campfire Gather 'round one and all. New or old, it doesn't matter. All that should matter is a willingness to have, what may or may not be considered, knowledge bestowed upon anyone willing to learn how in the world all this cool looking stuff happens 'round here. Let's get started... ________________________________________Line Break:

This may be a good time to ask. Has a Freeper image hosting service been considered?
Paid for an maintained by Freeper voluntary donations? Would $1 month payable in advance work? I have no clue as to the work involved, but this issue keeps coming up.
Most of us don't post images because of the hassle of setting up accounts with hosts with strange rules.
Freepers are a different crowd. Rules would be necessary of course:
1. Newbies do not qualify. One must be a active Freeper in good standing at least 60 days. Most Zot material do not have the maturity to last that long.
2. A limit on the number of images allowed is not a problem; either in number of images or individual user size. Say, 50 Mb would include a lot of images usually associated with posts: flying pig, DUmmies, etc.
3. Users lacking the good sense to not post inappropriate pictures (porn, gross, or invasion of privacy) to the server would get ejected. No refunds.
4. How much would a terabyte server cost?
5. Outed trolls or other undesireables would have their allocaton wiped clean when they are finally ejected and made available to other Freepers.
Surely this issue has come up before. Is it that much trouble? server

1. Make sure the pictures are small enough to fit on your screen.
2. Put invisible tape on the FACE of the picture (this is important -- if you put it on the back, people will just see a red "x")
3. Place the pictures on your monitor screen in the arrangement you want, using the previously-mentioned tape.
Voila! If people complain they can't see your pictures clearly, get a flashlihght and shine it on your monitor screen to improve contrast.
