The food network has become the station where the hosts and chefs look, well, good enough to eat.
At the Food Network, E.V.O.O. means extra-virgin olive oil. But theres also a bit of T&A on hand and that definitely does not stand for tomatoes and apples.
The Food network has a subscriber base of 88 million, a group that has blossomed in its 13 years from 6.5 million members in 1993.
Much of the success can be attributed to Emeril Lagasse, who strapped the fledgling food tv network to his back and carried it through the nineties.
But a new savior has arrived and frankly one that quite a bit easier on the eyes. If I may steal a phrase from the food diva, she's Yum-O!.
With four count 'em hour - shows on the Food Network, including "30-Minute Meals," in which she puts together meals in under 30 minutes silly, and "$40 a Day," in which she dines while traveling on a budget - two best selling cookbooks out this year, a new magazine - Rachael Ray knows how to heat up things up in and out of the kitchen!
Ray is a 37-year-old wholesome hottie who has taken the Baton from Lagasse to become the face - and body - of the Food Network.
Ray is author of 11 books and namesake of a new magazine. She has also posed in skimpy shorts for a little FHM "action".
She's also the first foodie expert to do a talk show, which is set to air next fall. The show will focus on "taking a bigger bite out of life."
Remember what the great W. C. Fields said:
"There are only two things in the world that smell like fish...
and one of them is fish!"
Giada is very cute, but c'mon, who can trust a cook who weighs about 100 pounds??
Locked in my brain, yes. LOL
FYI..I just checked the FoodNetwork website..show is on weekdays 5:30 -6:00...tough choice...her or Chris Matthews?
Hmmmm... I will have to remember that one! LOL
I can bake anything, but I just hate cooking. My brother (professional chef) got all the cooking genes. Ironically, he hates to bake.
LOL! Tells you a lot about her cooking.
I'm gonna miss you on the AI thread tonight. Have a fun night date with my 4 year old.
But I can cook in other places. Ask Najida. Heh, heh, heh. ; )
because you don't have a big enough Turkey baster..(g)
You rock, my friend.
She is no Nigella Lawson, but still a hottie.
I'm exactly the other way around. I love to cook, but baking is too much like science. The exact amounts matter, whereas with cooking I can just flail around until it tastes good.
Cooks may not age well, but our men don't leave us - they know they'll never eat that well again. ;-D
SD
vehemently disagree...cooking together, along with an ope bottle of wine..is one of the sexiest things a man and woman can do together in a verticle position..it's like foreplay..
I even told her what a mistake that was. She should have held out. ;o)
I believe you're thinking of Sandra Lee who does Semi-Homemade
No today..I need chocolate and giving up everything tomorrow for ASH Wednesday..So I am trying to get it all today! :)
That's funny right there.. :)
I bet she doesn't fry bacon dressed like that.
I have to say, though -- Rachel looks better with her natural coloring than some of the weird orange make-up and lightened hair that I've seen her with on some more recent shows.
Yes, Sandra Lee. I never mentioned Giada at all.
