I'll be smiling when it is utterly gone.

I have probably had it for many years (probably since 1999 or 2000) but the onset of critical illness followed an antibiotic regimen for a sinus infection in June - remember? ... right after my beloved friend's wedding in Harrisburg, I got an awful earache and sinusitis, and was put on Ceflex or cyclosporin or something to clear it... and soon thereafter my gut went nuts. It is probable that as a side effect of antibiotic treatment, my normal bacterial population in my gut was decimated and the 'sporin-resistant C.diff went to town in the ecological vacuum which resulted.

Now that we know what has been going on, treatment is relatively straightforward and statistically quite effective.

just for fun...

the Clostridium family of pathogens include those which afflict Man with:
Botulism, gasseous gangrene, osteomyelitis (living bone-rot), etc...

fun stuff.

afaik, no one has "weaponized" any of them, but it is only a matter of time until someone does so (or the huge number of immunocompromised and antibiotically sloppy patients in the West generates strains as bad as anything anyone could develop deliberately)

big fun, when that happens.

no you aren't... you are in a locus not referenced by the Standard Model cartesian grid.

Yes, I remember when you began to get ill. It sounds like a disease of opportunity. I'm SO glad you will be able to get rid of it!

Keep me posted on your progress. I'm sure your stamina will improve, as well as everything else. Maybe even your appetite...

Thanks for the advice!

I'd love to get rid of my old, rickety, wooden, "chick" ladder, but the kittens really like climbing on it. I may just set it up in their room for them to play on.

Hey, that's a standard phone greeting here.
"Hello. No, can't get there from here."

*chuckle*

Kevin Klein steals the movie...well, he and John Palin. Klein is always saying, "I forgot the middle thing again....What was the middle thing?" And my favorite, "And don't call me 'STUPID!'"
