Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Through shadows to the edge of night
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Party is way across town, so there's no walking. And we didn't want to disappoint the friend.
Besides, I got several hours of work out of him. And he did clean his car up...

Just gave Cisco a very quick bath. He looks funny - his fur fluffed up a bunch, and trimmed as it is, it sticks straight up in places on his back.

Joseph has his permit and just finished the Driver's Ed course, but we have yet to get him behind the wheel. Regardless, he's looking at cars to buy. We told him to find a good one, and a job to go with it. ;o)
We're thinking we'll be here til at least mid-August, so he could go ahead and take his test and get his license on Aug. 6th. I'm trying to find out when the new law takes effect that says kids have to be 17 in MA to get their Jr. Operator's License. It's supposed to be sometime in Aug, but I'm not sure of the date. We figure if he already has his license in hand, it will make it easier transferring it to a MS license, where they can get their licenses at 16, instead of 16 1/2 which is what it is here, now.

Just don't mix it with ammonia....
No joke, the summer I was working at the pizza place one of the other drivers did just that when we were cleaning one night. I thought I was going to kill him.

I don't think you needed to kill him...sounds like he was doing a pretty good job of it himself.
To: RosieCotton
He escaped winning a Darwin Award because I happened upon him and the other guy just as he tipped the bottle down the sink that was clogged with other cleaners and made them leave the restaurant.

Jr. will finish behind-the-wheel next Friday and get his provisional license. Then all he has to do is appear in front of a judge to be sworn at...er in...

No kidding.
Of course when I told them they'd just created mustard gas, the scourge of WW1, they thought that was cool and wondered why they hadn't learned that in school.

Yeah. I don't know when they started this in Virginia. But he'll get a provisional license (sheet of paper) on Friday and will be able to drive by himself. But to get his actual license, he has to go to court.

I only wonder how long it will take her to follow me up there. LOL!
(No worries. She ~won't~ be living with us, Ramius)
