Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Through shadows to the edge of night
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

$1.88 is pretty amazing. We had a sale last week on the cartoned milk, the half gallons. Anyway the sale was 10 for $10. That was amazingly cheaper than the gallon jugs priced at $3.49. We cannot go through 5 gallons of milk before it spoils, so I got my usual 2 (4 cartons).

So pissed off at amazon. I went to check the status or an order I placed a week ago and it says 'shipping soon' 'expected deliver April 27-May 13'...
I selected 'super saver shipping' nor freaking hitchhiker express. How do the make a package take that long to get someplace? Deliberately leave it in a warehouse for a set length of time? It would have been nice if they had mentioned that 'super saver' meant 'a month or more'. If they had TOLD me that I would have spent the extra couple bucks. What, they just assume that since I want to save a few dollars I must not want the books until May???
Hmmm ranting does not make me any less annoyed. I wonder what the theory behind it is. Maybe going to eat lunch will...

Wait, those are the instructions for how to kill a ninja. She didn't want to know that. Darn.

Is one of the things you ordered on backorder? Take that out and they should ship the rest.

I simply cannot wrap my mind around seeing $1 for a half-gallon. I'd love to get milk at that price. :-)
Milk is about $3-4 per gallon here. Walgreens has it on sale every other week though, so I grab a couple of gallons there when I see it.
Does the cartoned milk taste different to you compared to the plastic jug kind?

Just a "Be aware and be ready" kinda thing, you know? I always get the hall ready and make sure the jedis are completely dressed, including shoes.
Our hallway is the center of our house and has no windows, so that is where we would go in case of a tornado. I put blankets and cushions in the hallway during a watch.
I wish we had a cellar, though. Or a safe room.

Do you have it set to "Ship items as they become available" or "Group my items into as few shipments as possible"? Perhaps one of the items is out of stock and is holding up the rest of the order.

Same thought here as ecurbh and JenB already mentioned.
Make sure there isn't any one thing holding up the whole order.

it's a fine line between a smart feller and a fart smeller.ROTFL! Sounds like my Daddy! One of his favorite sayings was "that's about as effective as a fart in a whirlwind." Lordy I miss that man, but I'm carrying on in his stead; my kids are continually amused at the little sayings and such I've inherited.

I listened to "Son of a Witch" on the drive to Pittsburgh.
I think that even though the author is a big gay liberal...not that there's anything wrong with that......the books, at least this story line are growing on me.

Is the author the same one who wrote "Wicked", on which the musical is based?

If you have a deep freeze, you can freeze the milk in the plastic half-gallon jugs. It puffs up and gets all round, but I've never had one burst. It defrosts well, too...I just set it on the counter overnight and it's cold and *almost* defrosted by morning. No change in flavor or consistency.
