Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Through shadows to the edge of night
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, I'm a big admirer of Travis Meyer ever since he came on one night late at night and gave a weather report and said " I don't know why I bother, nobody's listening". Ha hah!! I laughed right out loud in bed.
That was when he was with another station and he changed stations not too long later to my favorite weather news station, the News on Six.
Anyway, I like his style and Steve told me he was gonna confront him at the weather show about me having a crush on him! I protested loudly, as I'm a good Christian wife and had no such crush! I just like his style.
It was all just joking around, you understand...

In other news, the City actually thinks it's a good idea to replace the bears...'course there was nothing wrong with the old ones.
~sigh~

Supposedly, game officials are looking for an injured or orphaned bear. There's just enough stupidity involved that I'm skeptical about whether or not they'd injure or orphan one on purpose.

"I don't know why I bother, nobody's listening"Heh... reminds me of something I saw many years ago when I lived up in Michigan. One of the local stations wrapped up their programming for the night with a news broadcast that ran after the network programs were finished; it usually ran at about 12:30 or 1:00 am, and instead of just being a rebroadcast of the 10:00 pm news, it was done live. So one Saturday night, the weatherman was getting ready to read the forecast, but he didn't have a script; he was going to read it from the screen displayed to the viewers.
"And the forecast for tonight..." and one word showed up on the screen: Dark. "Well, yes, it's going to be dark tonight..." And he kept reading: "With earthquakes and volcanos in the morning, and a chance of hurricanes later." Everybody in the studio had a good laugh at his expense...

A letter to the editor could be drafted that suggests that they have not proven to be proper stewards of bears, and should not be trusted with more.

Here's a bit of good news, to budget-conscious me, anyway...the other day, I sent Steve to Albertsons with a milk coupon for $1.88 a gallon limit 2. So he got the two gallons (we go through a lot of milk) and they gave him the sale price but didn't take the coupon! He brought it back home!
So when we were just about to run out of those two gallons, I took the coupon and went and got another two gallons! That time they did take the coupon.
On the way out to the car, guess what I found on the ground by the car? LOL! Another coupon!
Today's the expiration date for the coupon so I'm going to get some more milk! Heh heh!

Maybe someone should start a campaign to send them stuffed bears and notes saying these are the only kind they're qualified to handle.

We go through lots of milk at my house too.
But $1.88?! Amazing!
I count myself lucky to get the $2.49/gallon sale!

We've got a gorgeous couple of days ahead. We're fixing to go work in the back yard, taking down some batter boards SirKit had set up for laying out the addition, and think about filling in the hole. ;o)
We have SO much de-frapping to do just to get ready to paint and freshen up to put the house up for sale!

Yeah, Albertsons often puts half-gallon milk and OJ on sale for 10 for $10 which I think is real good and I used to stock up Rudolph with it...I'd buy $40 worth of milk and OJ!
I'm impressed with Albertson's sales lately and I got a response card from the store and told them so. I appreciate $1.99/pound ground beef and tomorrow their chicken tenders go on sale for $1.49 a pound...I've already promised the jedis fried chicken tenders for supper tomorrow night. (It's a favorite dish around here.)
I told Albertsons in the response card that the sales they're putting on are on good "staple" items and I really appreciate it.
