The Hobbit Hole XXVIII - Through shadows to the edge of night
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 02/24/2006 9:52:11 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Through shadows to the edge of night

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Mornin folkses.

I'm still in mourning over Edgar's passing. It was just ~wrong~. :-(

I need coffee!

Good luck on the interview today, Rosie!

My partner's out sick again today, which means I have 61 companies to process today. I'm pretty ticked off. It has not been a good morning so far.

Has Steve been watchin all season? It was especially good last night! Those two hours just FLEW by, especially since we didn't have to sit through the commercials. Fortunately, though, we saw the heads up about the new XMen trailer, so we did watch that.

#3 looks to be much darker and more violent, but sounds like it's gonna be great!

Where was Lynn in the last scene? Did he make it into the ops room?

I wore that to the first interview, or that's just what I'd do.

I suppose at this point, they know I have another job, and will hopefully cut me some slack for that...

This is at that very first place - where I interviewed the day after I got here. They called me back for a follow-up right after I got offered my current job, but we're only just now getting to it.

Hmmm. I'm trying to remember which rooms were ok. I remember the Situation room was one, and I don't remember seeing Lynn there. I'll go back and watch the DVR. The clinic was another, but I don't know about the interrogation rooms.

Huh...I hadn't thought about it. Wonder if he made it through? Maybe his *whole* reason for being there was for plot purposes, so his keycard could be stolen and CTU's security breached.

Rudy killed Edgar! Arghhh!! Baaaaad hobbit!

Is the interview with a different person? Either way, they probably won't remember what you wore before, or who knows, maybe you looked so stuneing in it, it might just be the ticket! ;o)

Same people, plus a few more.

Granted, they were guys, and IT guys at that, but I probably should still wear a different top...

I have some options. I'm just good at fretting.

Sure. Hair's still asleep on the couch, but I got a pot of espresso just finishing up.

There were three rooms that were okay. The situation room, the clinic and one other.

He has been, but for a long time I didn't realize it! He cleans up the kitchen in the evening and I've known that he loiters in there and I finally figured out it was because he was watching 24! He knew I wouldn't watch it because it messes up my equilibrium, so he just stayed in the kitchen putzing and watching it! So last night I told him it was coming on and it was supposed to be a 2-hour episode...I turned it on in the livingroom and went and took my hot soak. When I came out he was relaxing in the recliner watching it.

It wasn't a 2- hour episode here, though...it started at 8pm and was just the episode with the nerve gas...I saw the end of it and they were stuck in a room with people dying all around. Then the news came on just like normal at 9pm.

You're addicted to that espresso stuff, aren't you?

Are you sure it didn't come on at 7? I can't imagine any station not showing both hours. What you saw was the end of the two hours the rest of us saw.

Hmmm...well, I dunno for sure. I turned it on at 8pm, the normal time it comes on and it was just starting.

Maybe he did miss the first hour! Did it come on earlier than usual?

You missed the first hour! Since it's on Fox, they don't go past 9:00 pm... when they have a two-hour episode, they start an hour early rather than run an hour late!
