The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films has released its nominations for the 32nd Saturn Awards, to be given out May 2, 2006 in Universal City, California. The Stargate franchise picked up a total of four nominations in this year's prestigious genre awards.
Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis were both nominated in the Best Syndicated/Cable TV Series category, just as they were last year. SG-1 has won the award three times -- in 2000, 2004, and 2005.
Other contenders include Battlestar Galactica, The Closer, The 4400, and Nip/Tuck.
Ben Browder (Cameron Mitchell) received a nomination in the Best Actor On Television category, an award he won in 2005 for Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars and in 2002 for Farscape the series. His competition includes William Fichtner (Invasion), Matthew Fox (Lost), Jilian McMahon (Nip/Tuck), Wentworth Miller (Prison Break), and Tom Welling (Smallville).
Finally, Claudia Black (Vala Mal Doran) earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actress On Television for her recurring role on SG-1 this season. She took home the Saturn for Best Actress on TV in 2005 for Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars.
Catherine Bell (The Triangle), Allison Mack (Smallville), Michelle Rodriguez (Lost), Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) and Erica Durance (Smallville) were also nominated in this category. Durance is a Stargate SG-1 alum, having played Krista in Season Eight's "Affinity."

ohhh Carter is hot! ;)
The last 3 or 4 episodes have been really boring.
The theme song at the opening of Stargate Atlantis is outstanding. So, I bought the CD. Very powerul, gripping, inspiring - and WAY TOO DAMNED SHORT! It only lasted a minute. I found the web site for the composer and told him he needed to expand the theme song by several minutes. (But I also said please!)
And Michael Shanks has been phoning it in. Did you know he's married to the new doctor?
Oh yeah, I know he's married to Lexa Doig who used to be on Andromeda.
Where's Harry Dean Anderson? I'm still on Season 1.
Anderson is not a regular on Season 9. He's still Exec. Producer of the show, but I think he wanted to spend more time with his family. He was replaced by Ben Browder who used to be on Farscape. Amanda Tapping is still on the show, that's all I care about :)
BUMP!
Isn't it amazing how primative people who are thousands of light years away from Earth speak English?
That would be Richard Dean Anderson
Harry Dean Stanton is another actor, entirely
who has also done his share of SciFi, including Escape From New York (he played "Brain") and Alien (he played one of the repairmen, "Brett")
I got nothing.
MMMMMMMMMM! Catherine Bell
I miss JAG
