Have fun! I'm just a low-ranked nerd.
Think about it - muy own granny, the Baroness Ashby de la Zouche, is now linked by DNA to most everyone in England. And hence, to most in the US.
How, then, the emperer of rome?
But your rant is poetic, and I enjoyed it - so lay on, McDuff, and damned be him who first...
sorry, wong fable.
He works!
Nobody in my family in the ukraine.
I hear the miniseries is excellent. But I have no desire to see it. If I could, I'd smite it out of existence. I read the book some time ago by sheer force of will. I wanted to physically destroy the volume when I read the slights on Octavian and the villification of Livia. But I had to read on to the end to see what the fuss is over. As a literary effort, it was okay. The storytelling was quite good--I'll give Graves credit for that much. But whatever merits the book has were achieved by ridiculing my mentor from out of time, and for that Graves earned my eternal condemnation. When I rule the world, I will erase him and his miserable writings out of existence. (I'll have to go back and delete these posts as well--no record can be extant).
I developed eloborate reasons why Graves penned such a work--he, like many, was disillusioned by the Great War and decided that Western Civ had to be destroyed. In order to hasten its decadence, he would lay waste to its history. So he sought out to undermine the Roman Empire, the progenitor of European society, by mocking its founder. He poisoned the figs of historical knowledge, so to speak.
One of "Those" LOL!
Holy crap, I got the same score as you. oo;
10 points for the rant
10 points for the use of extant
10 points for willingness to read, instead of just trashing it
100 points for the assumption you get to burn books
100 points for assuming that you will rule the world
100 points for being willing to erase whatever you said, along with the sins of others,
And about 1,000,000 points for that last paragragh.
Wow. good thing it is odarkthirty, eh? ;)
It's been fun, goodnight everyone!
LOL. I think it was the 1GB if RAM that did me in; or that and recognizing Newton. (i think). Then again, I expected a higher nerd score, honestly.
I just found this thread while trying a little test: "find one thread, ANY thread, that hasn't dissolved into a fight between conservatives and libertarians."
I had given up reading threads I normally read, and found this. I should visit these kind more often!
"find one thread, ANY thread, that hasn't dissolved into a fight between conservatives and libertarians."
We haven't had any fights on this thread, it's been a good techy thread, pushing 300 posts. Don't tell.
It's Newton. He's the troll.
Nowadays, it's more focused. Depth of knowledge versus breadth. That said, it's still a tough exam. The session I took it, the pass rate was 15%.
Thanks Indy...
I appreciate you're thoughts...;)
Thanks DD!
