I do feel that in my case, the woman is going to have to make the first move, most likely(as I am too shy and scared to do so), and maybe the second.

So that kind of hinders my chances.

Agreed. Same with me.

I have said that same thing many times myself too. I am an absolute chicken when it comes to girls, but again what I always find works best is to talk to them like their one of your buddies. They are people just the same as we are.

I'm not all that good about picking up on "body language".What is it I should look for?

Speaking from personal experience, for me the biggest ‘sign from above’ that the relationship was over, was how the relationship would grow to be ‘one-sided’. Usually, I would be the one who would get dumped ‘out of the blue’ and never saw it coming—until I looked back at how blind I had been.

At first, when I started dating a guy, interest in each other would be mutual. Then over time (weeks or months) his demeanor would change slowly, with subtle increasing lack of interest—which he would deny if asked. Then over time he would become less ‘available’—which he would deny if I questioned. Then he would make snide comments about almost anything I talked about—which he swore he wasn’t doing if I seemed bothered. He would become increasingly disagreeable—but insisted that he was still madly in love.

Then BOOM. It’s over. One boyfriend I had told me “he loved me” after I even questioned him about his lack of interest in me, only to get dumped by him the next week (our of the blue!). I always fell for their words, and ignored their actions. For me, it was the same scenario, over and over and over. I was a hopeless romantic and refused to see how he was treating over time. Over the years, my boyfriends of the past gave me crumbs, and I accepted them—like the desperate woman I started to become, not knowing that there were better people in the world (like my hubby) out there.

People are more careful checking out new cars or buying a house then they are in their choice of partners.

Impulse shopping is not too smart.

I always fell for their words, and ignored their actions.

And actions speak louder than words!

Relationships like that are just as hard for the guys when things start to turn, as it is really tough to communicate why you feel the way you do as it might indicate that the relationship is nearing an end and nobody wants to bring it up. I think most guys opt for the 'easy road' (i.e. the chicken$hit road) and let it dwindle out, which is not a respectable thing to do. I had a relationship like that, and it wasn't too fun for either of us.

True, and you can't throw a 'sales pitch' either.
