Greta came on with blockbuster development. Twitty's attorney, John Q. Kelly, apparently had the moves of the Vandersloots under extreme scrutiny. The Vandersloot parents had flown to NYC for an interview with ABC .. Joran was en route from the Netherlands to NYC to meet with them.
Kelly had a former law enforcement official seated 3 seats in front of Joran on the plane, and when they were on American soil and were about to deplane, he served papers on Joran for 3 counts. Simultaneously, the Vandersloot parents were served in NYC ... the father charged with 1 count.
Greta says the intrigue is worth of James Bond, and this unusual service is amazing .. she's not spoken with Beth Twitty. Will have more tonight on her show.
Didn't see any evidence this was posted .. was announced about 40 mins. ago.
At least the Holloway Freeper crowd will again have something to salivate over...even though it is nothing at all.
See ya.
Yes, go hang out on the Holloway thread and have a great big group hug about this PR spectacle, and pretend that Joran is ever going to be questioned under oath in this case.
I didn't know that people could be prosecuted in a civil suit....that is news to me.
But please can the jaded, cynical and disdainful cracks. There's a family who lost their dear daughter, and many of us here who deeply empathize with the eternal heartbreak of that family.
Gee, I guess this is the end of the big blockbuster U.S. book and movie that PvdS was arranging for the Pimpster. He had even signed a contract for publication so I guess if they default on the H/T's law suit the Pimple won't be able to finish the book and he spent all that time writing the first 50 pp already. Isn't that a pity?
LOL. I hate it for him. If this civil suit goes anywhere it's good to know he may not profit from this.
Yep. It looks like he'll not be able to finish the book he's under contract to write (same publisher as Dave Holloway's) and if he does, he won't see any of the $. And worst of all, since he signed the contract in Aruba, Dave's publisher will stop him from signing another contract and finding a publisher in the Netherlands. Boy, that Kelly guy sure isn't a very smart lawyer according to CofC. He just put the last nail in the coffin of the vdS's profits from their crimes. Wonder if somebody from ABC helped to set up the Aruban criminal family?
You're not considering the publicity that the VanDersloots are attempting to get - I mean that's why they were here right? To try to sway public opinion. So if there's nothing to hide - there's no reason to not answer the suit? If they can come up for a couple of television interviews, surely in the interest of justice and really clearing their name - they'd be willing to participate in a civil hearing.
Yes, we will find out why Cheney was silent about this as well! :)
Case was filed at 11 am this morning .. had to email the index # of the complaint to the process server so he could include it in the service doc. Everything was video taped .. didn't want the media to find out. Services done almost simultaneously. When the plane landed at Kennedy Airport, Joran was the last person off the plane due to having to clear Customs .. it was a cat and mouse game .. and he was served right on the plane.
Won't answer if there was a separate person on the plane video taping. Said dozens of people were involved. Bo Deitl and his team were involved .. 3 teams, 3 continents.
Instructions were they weren't going to serve the parents until Joran was served. Doesn't know Joran's reaction. The Dad was photographed also when he got served. Purpose is to avoid a he said/he said situation. It's all memorialized.
Plaintiffs are Beth Twitty and Dave Holloway. Once the action was filed in New York and the Vandersloots are in New York, they have jurisdiction. Service was completed about 3pm today on the plane.
I'm impress .. he was on it
sexual assault
false imprisonment and 1 other .. couldn't get it
negligent supervision against Paulus Vandersloot
Looks like they won't be going anywhere any time soon, now that NY has jurisdiction over them.
I hope they get everything they deserve. I know that there's a n ongoing thread about Natalee but I've not really kept up with the case. This is great news and I'm sure her parents are elated.
HAPPY! HAPPY! JOY! JOY!
I know .. the torture that family has endured with such grace and composure is more than I can fathom under such tragic circumstances in such a clannish foreign land. God bless them all and heal their hearts.
Just wow. Thanks for the report.
