It's much more prevalent than you think. Every week you can pick up the paper or turn on the TV news and see a school employee getting arrested for abuse. It seems the press reports the story then forgets about it with no follow-up, and you never see them total the cases. And we all know about the sentencing disparites between male and female abusers. there was a freeper named larrylied who kept hundreds of threads on his homepage regarding the schools/coaches and sex abuse.

We have not heard much yet about the gay sex clubs being set up in public schools across the nation. That could be because members of the group have to promise not to tell outsiders what happens in the sex club. : (

Aside from the pernicious hatred for the Catholic Church, the other reason for focusing on them rather than the public schools is financial. Lawyers can't collect much in the way of monetary settlements by suing the public schools.
